Parents/Guardians January 2026
Principal's Message
As we look to the new year, January offers a natural moment to pause, reset, and look ahead. Returning after the winter break can take a little time, and we know that routines, energy levels, and focus all need to be rebuilt - by students and adults alike. That’s okay. Growth doesn’t happen all at once; it happens through steady effort and consistency.
This month is about renewal and finding our rhythm again. We’ll continue focusing on strong routines, positive relationships, and high expectations for learning and behaviour, while also giving students the support they need to settle back in successfully.
Thank you for the partnership you show our school each day. We’re looking forward to a focused, productive, and positive start to 2026 together.
On behalf of all our staff, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

7 Sacred Teachings – Character Education at Eckville Elementary
In January our school will be focusing on Honesty as part of our work with the Seven Sacred Teachings. Honesty reminds us of the importance of being truthful with ourselves and others, taking responsibility for our actions, and building trust within our community.
Throughout January, students will explore what honesty looks like in everyday situations - owning mistakes, speaking truthfully, and making things right when we can. These conversations help children understand that honesty isn’t about being perfect, but about learning, growing, and doing the right thing even when it’s hard.
We appreciate your continued partnership as we reinforce these values at school and at home. Together, we help our students develop strong character and integrity that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
School Visitors - Check in at Main Office
Just a reminder to everyone that all school visitors need to check in at the main office. When students are being picked up early, please come to the office and let us know, then we can call or walk down to the classroom. This helps limit classroom disruptions and lets us ensure we know who are always in the building as visitors, in case of emergency.
Student Medications
Please ensure all student medications are accompanied by a district required parent consent form. This includes everything from inhalers and epi-pens to tylenol, antibiotics and advil. The consent forms are available at the office and are required for any and all student medications in the school.
