Principal's Corner
Hello FamiLEE,
It is Spring Break. I hope everyone has a great week planned. Please make sure you come back ready to finish the school year strong. After students return, we have only 3 weeks until our Juniors take the ACT, so we will hit the ground running on Monday, March 17.
I want to continue to emphasize the importance of all students being here each day and on time. Good attendance is essential for achievement in school and we need your child here as much as possible so that we can move forward as a school community. When your child misses school for any reason, please send excuse notes to LHS.Attendance@hsv-k12.org.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Kitrise Torain
LHS Principal

Announcements
Attention Parents & Guardians! All medications prescribed and over the counter require this form from your child's physician. Students are not allowed to carry any kind of medications around with them without the permission of the school nurses - they must be kept in the nurses office with the correct forms on file. Medications found on students will be confiscated and must be picked up by parents/guardians. This is a district wide requirement.
The SOAR HBCU Scholars Program is for rising 11th grade students. This is a great, FREE, opportunity that will help them understand what college life will be like after graduation. Please see the flyer below for more information!
Attention Students and Parents/Guardians! Please note that students have the opportunity to visit their teachers for help during FamiLEE Time (11:30am-12:15pm) instead of going to clubs every Tuesday through Friday. Please see the attached schedule of teacher office hours and encourage your child to take advantage of this opportunity!
The Lee High School Soccer teams are selling Little Caesars Pizza Kits to raise money for equipment and other expenses! They are convenient and delicious, perfect to have on hand for busy days. Can you please help us? Go to https://fundraising.littlecaesars.com/products... or use the QR code to place an order today! It’s easy and only takes a few minutes. You can pay by credit card and the Pizza Kits will be shipped right to your door by FedEx. (Also… pro tip! It’s the same price to ship one or two Pizza Kits, so go ahead and order two!)

Shout-Outs
- Shout-out to our Freshmen of the Week from this week! Amy Ngom comes to us from Chapman Middle School. She is in the vocal magnet here at Lee High. In her spare time she likes to call her friends, spend time with her sister, and sleep. When she graduates from high school she would like to become a singer or a lawyer. Her favorite teacher at Lee is Ms. Smith because she is super sweet and she helps you understand your work! Angelo Carrion-Rodriguez comes to us from Morris Middle School. Here at Lee he is in the vocal magnet. In his spare time he likes designing fashions, sleeping, and playing video games. When he graduates from high school he would like to go to college in New York and major in fashion design. His favorite teacher at Lee is Mrs. Echols because she takes the time to get to know her students and relate to them. Congratulations to both of them for representing our FamiLEE values so well!!!
- Huge shout-out to the Lee High School Band!!! They received an overall superior rating at this year’s MPA!!!! We are so very proud of them for all of their hard work!!!! Way to go!!!!
