Dear Pingree Community,
Happy Sunday!
We had such a fun week celebrating Read Across America! Check out our Picture of the week, Literacy coach, Kristina Melanson and second grader Evelyn Rakers from the Elephant and Piggie series!
Last week we also had our March school-wide assembly on Wednesday. We had a surprise visit from JiJi the penguin as we kicked off our Math Madness contest across Weymouth. We are competing against Murphy this week for the most completed puzzles! Go Pingree!! In addition, we celebrated PBIS winning classrooms Mrs. O'Neil and Ms. Marcella's class. The kindergartners chose a dance party (check out the pictures) and the 5th graders chose extra recess this coming week. Also happening this week, third grade will be visiting the Commonwealth Museum on Friday and as a school we will be celebrating Music Fridays all month long. Students and staff are encouraged to wear band or music t-shirts.
Finally this week, we were sad to say goodbye to our long-time bus driver Miss Sue! Although she will be so missed, we are happy for her and her next adventure! Thank you, Miss Sue!
We have lots of information in this newsletter, so please let me know if you have any questions. In addition to the March calendar, Parent Council also put together a newsletter for March, so please check it out below. We are starting the planning process for this year's field day and will be looking for volunteers.

Pop Up Pantry- A message from our Food Pantry Partners!
We know a lot of families are feeling financial strain these days. Below is a link to our Pop Up Pantry calendar. Families can get food on a weekly basis, no questions asked and no reporting. Tuesday's are drive through (nice and quick and easy for folks with kids in the car), Thursday and Saturday are walk-in. We also have a Portuguese translator available on Saturdays.
