Principal's Message - November 2026

This year, the staff and students of St. Teresa of Calcutta continue to be committed to promoting the values of social justice, anti-bullying, inclusion, and environmental stewardship. Thank you to all the students who participated in our Walk, Bike or Roll to School Campaign!

STOC also participated in our Youth Faith Ambassadors Food Drive leading up to Thanksgiving. Thank you for your generosity and compassion in supporting families in need.

In the month of November, we celebrate the Virtue of Conscience and reflect on how we can make thoughtful choices, do what is right, and be voices of kindness, fairness, and justice in our school and community.

On November 1, we celebrate All Saints' Day, and on November 2, we commemorate All Souls' Day, remembering and praying for those who have gone before us.

On November 11, our Grade 8 students will lead our school in a Remembrance Day Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. Families are welcome to join us as we honour the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces and reflect on the gift of peace. Our Virtue Assembly, recognizing students who demonstrate the Virtue of Conscience, will take place that afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

Throughout November, we will also participate in several important awareness and learning opportunities:

  • Treaties Recognition Week: November 1-7, 2026
  • Veterans' Week: November 5-11, 2026
  • Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week: November 15-21, 2026

During Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week, students will engage in activities that promote kindness, empathy, inclusion, and respect while learning about the impact of bullying and the importance of creating safe and caring school communities for everyone.

As we move through this month of remembrance and reflection, may we continue to live our faith through our actions, show gratitude for the blessings in our lives, and strengthen our commitment to caring for one another. Together, we can make St. Teresa of Calcutta a welcoming place where every student feels valued, respected, and loved.

Thrive November December Newsletter

As we move through the final months of the year, we are invited to slow down, reflect, and intentionally nurture our mental health and well-being. November is also Bullying Awareness and

Prevention Month, providing an important opportunity to promote kindness, inclusion, respect, and belonging within our school communities. During Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week,

students are encouraged to consider how their words and actions can contribute to creating safe, caring, and inclusive environments where everyone feels valued and supported. November also

reminds us of the importance of strengthening self-awareness by helping students recognize their thoughts, emotions, strengths, and needs, and understand how these influence their choices,

relationships, and interactions with others.

Concussion Protocol

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board has developed a Concussion Policy and Guidelines for students who have been diagnosed with a concussion by either a medical doctor or nurse practitioner. School staff cannot diagnose a concussion. Anytime a student reports to the office with a head injury, the parent/guardian will be contacted and the incident will be entered into the school’s “Documentation of Head Injuries” log. This is precautionary only, and we ask that you check your child when he/she gets home for any signs of a concussion or illness. A brochure containing information about Concussions is provided upon pick up of the student or when they go home for the day. This is a precautionary measure and for information purposes.
