Shady Shores Elementary School

Thank you to all of our families that joined us for PTA's Reindeer Games! I am incredibly proud of our SSE Dance/Cheer Team, the ORFF Ensemble, and the Choir students. Their performances were fantastic!

Please note that on December 19 and 20 that all LDISD schools will release early. SSE will dismiss students beginning at 12:00 pm, starting with bus riders and daycare, followed by car riders, and then walkers.

Each week I ask the students in our morning assembly an important question, "Why do we come to school?" The students will shout, "To learn!" We talk about how I am using Habit 2: Beginning With The End In Mind in wanting all of our students to be successful grown ups, which happens through them being at school and learning. I know as an educator and as a parent that there are times that students are going to miss school for various reasons. If you have any questions or worries about attendance, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Stevenson or myself.

I am always looking for ways to improve our campus. The students will tell you I want this to be the best elementary school on Earth for them. If you have specific suggestions on how we can improve you or your child's experience at SSE, please call, email, or set up an appointment to meet with me.

December 20 - Winter Party Day & Early Release at 12 pm

December 23rd - January 7th: Winter Break

We LOVE having dads, grandpas, uncles, etc... at SSE during our day! To be a WATCH D.O.G.S., you can volunteer many times or even just 1 day. We appreciate extra help in our car line in the mornings and at lunch. Or volunteer on your child's birthday and make their day extra special!

We would love to have our parents and grandparents on campus helping and seeing the great things happening at SSE. If you are interested in serving as a WATCH D.O.G.S.
