Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete and update your child’s demographic forms. These updates are an important part of keeping our school records current and include consent for Physical Education activities, the acceptable use agreement for technology, walking field trips, and, most importantly, current emergency contact information. Your attention to these details helps us keep things running smoothly and ensures we have the information we need to support your child.

It’s hard to believe we are already into October! The first month of school has certainly been a busy one, and it has been wonderful to see our school community come together. From settling into new routines and classrooms to our Terry Fox Run and fundraiser, Orange Shirt Day, Open House, cross-country running, volleyball, AMA Patrol training, and so many other activities - there has been a lot happening at Eckville Elementary! It has been a great start to the year, and we are excited about what is still to come.

October brings another full month of learning, activities, and opportunities to build our school community. We’ll be taking part in bus safety training, celebrating Thanksgiving, and continuing to focus on the learning, relationships, and experiences that make Eckville Elementary such a special place to be. We have Parent-Teacher Interviews on October 21-22 (with a BOOK FAIR!) and there will be a link to sign up shared out after Thanksgiving.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and our school. We are looking forward to another great month together!

7 Sacred Teachings – Character Education at Eckville Elementary 7 Sacred Teachings – Character Education at Eckville Elementary

This year, we are excited to once again focus on the 7 Sacred Teachings as part of our character education. Each month, we will highlight one teaching to help guide how we treat ourselves, each other, and the world around us.

In September, our focus was on Respect. Students heard weekly messages during morning announcements, explored stories in the library, and reflected on respect through classroom activities. This month, our focus shifts to Humility — learning that no one is greater than another, and that each person has something valuable to contribute.

To help bring these teachings to life, we’re continuing on with our “Champion of the Sacred Teaching” awards (seen above), which will be presented each month to students who model the teaching in their daily lives.

School Visitors - Check In at Main Office School Visitors - Check In at Main Office

Just a reminder to everyone that all school visitors need to check in at the main office. When students are being picked up early, please come to the office and let us know, then we can call or walk down to the classroom. This helps limit classroom disruptions and lets us ensure we know who are always in the building as visitors, in case of emergency.

Student Medications Student Medications

Please ensure all student medications are accompanied by a district required parent consent form. This includes everything from inhalers and epi-pens to tylenol, antibiotics and advil. The consent forms are available at the office and are required for any and all student medications in the school.

If you are not able to log into your Parent Portal please don't hesitate to contact the office so we can help you out.
