Dear Barron Families,

As we continue into our third week back after the holidays, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership. We are especially grateful for your patience and flexibility during the recent water line break and limited water usage on campus. Thanks to the teamwork of our staff, we were able to continue serving students safely.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our cafeteria and custodial teams, as well as all staff members who stepped in to support students and classrooms. In some instances, families may have been directly impacted by this situation. Please know that support is available—Ms. Berenice Castillo is available to help connect families with resources as needed.

We are incredibly proud of the work happening in our classrooms every day. Recently, we had the opportunity to meet with families to discuss STAAR and available resources, but most importantly, to highlight the intentional instruction teachers provide across all content areas to support student learning and preparation for assessments. Thank you for trusting us with your children and for reinforcing the importance of learning at home.

We also want to recognize Ms. Angie Chavez and Ms. Berry for their beautiful work in redesigning our Military Wall of Honor. Ms. Chavez shared meaningful words and led a moment of silence in honor of loved ones who have served our country. This was a powerful reminder of service, sacrifice, and community, and we are thankful to all our families who shared in this moment.

🎉 Upcoming Events & Important Information

  • We are excited to celebrate our 100th Day of School on January 28th! This milestone marks the progress our students have made so far and reminds us that every day of learning matters.
  • All students will be provided with student ID cards and lanyards. Please help us by reminding your child to wear their IDs throughout the school day as part of our campus safety procedures and utilization in different areas of the campus. (see below)
  • Robotics Competition:
Saturday, January 24th at 8:30 AM at YWA

  • We invite our Barron families to come out and support our students and sponsors as they showcase their skills and teamwork.

Finally, we want to remind families that Panorama Surveys will be sent out soon. These surveys are confidential, and only overall results are shared with the district. Your feedback helps us continue to grow and improve as a campus.

Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership. Together, we will continue to ensure that every Pioneer learns and belongs.

With gratitude and pride,

The Barron Elementary Leadership Team

"It starts with US!"

THANK YOU, PIONEER MILITARY FAMILIES! ❤️🤍💙

Our Red, White & You Social was pure magic, and it’s all thanks to our incredible military-connected families who came out to celebrate with us!

Huge gratitude to:
- Grand Canyon University for sponsoring all the food, snacks, and drinks
- Ft. Bliss School Liaison Office & MWR for powerful resources, the outdoor American flag Barron received in August, and 90 toy microphones that were a part of our trivia prizes
- El Paso MEPS for joyfully running game booths and engaging with our families
- And the amazing Dr. Torres Cheer Team for an unforgettable debut performance! 📣

This night was a community collaboration from Barron Elementary, Dr. Torres Elementary, and your Military Family Liaison, Ms. Chavez.

Happy Military Family Appreciation Month — we are SO grateful for you and can’t wait to do it again! 🇺🇸
