Principal's Message Principal's Message

God of wisdom and might,
we praise you for the wonder of our being, for mind, body and spirit.
Be with our children as they begin a new school year.
Bless them and their teachers and staff.
Give the strength and grace as their bodies grow;
wisdom and knowledge to their minds as they search for understanding;
and peace and zeal to their hearts.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Parents, carers, children and teachers - welcome to the new school year. It was wonderful to see all the smiling faces yesterday and to hear stories from children excited about coming to school and not wanting to be late.

School Hours

Children are supervised from 8.10am to 3.15pm each day. Children should not be dropped off before 8.10am unless they are participating in OSH Club or tennis coaching.

If your child is absent from school, it is a legal requirement that the school be notified by a parent/carer. Students who are late to school, leaving during the day for appointments or leaving early at the end of the day must be signed in/out through the front office.

School Day For Pupils

  • 8.25am Class doors open
  • 8.35am Classes commence
  • 10.35am Morning recess
  • 10.50am Classes resume
  • 12.30pm Lunch
  • 1.10pm Classes resume
  • 2.55pm Dismissal

Hot Weather

It seems that the start of each new school year is hotter than the last. It is essential that the students bring a water bottle (water only) to school each day to remain hydrated. Taps are located around the school so students can refill their bottles as needed.

It is a good idea for children to have put on sunscreen at home before coming to school. Sunscreen is available in each classroom for ‘top-ups’. All children need to have their hats at school each day. Hats are worn at recess time, lunch time and whenever the children are at fitness and PE lessons.

Canteen

A reminder that our on-site canteen is no longer operating. As you were informed last year, an alternative has been sourced and lunches can be ordered on line (the link is on our website). It is best to place the order the night before it is required. Lunches will be delivered to the school and given to students at the appropriate time.

Parent Information Meetings

These meetings are a perfect opportunity to learn about what is happening and expectations in your child/ren’s classrooms. It is always difficult to arrange times that best suit most parents. Parent Information evening will be on Tuesday, 6th February.

If you cannot attend, please ensure that you read any information that is sent home or posted on your child’s SeeSaw page.

Responding to Parent Emails and Calls

To assist us in enabling our teachers and support staff to disconnect from work and technology at the end of their working hours, there is no expectation that they will respond to calls, emails, texts or other communications outside of school hours: 8.00am – 4.30pm. Staff will respond to your communications as soon as practical for urgent requests or within three days for non-urgent requests.

If you need assistance with a matter relating to child safety, please ring the school office on 9303 7500 and leave a message.

School Fees

2024 school fee accounts will be sent out soon. Any outstanding fees from 2023 will be added to this year’s accounts. Please ensure all outstanding fees from 2023 are paid immediately, and 2024 fees paid off by the end of Term 3 this year. If fees are not able to be paid, an appointment must be made to meet with myself to discuss alternate arrangements.

Parents and Carers who hold Health Care Cards and Pension Concession Cards may be entitled to discounted school fees. Even if you provided a copy of your card last year and the card is still valid, you must provide a copy of your card again this year so we can include any applicable discount in your fees statement.

God Bless

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to the families that are returning to our St Atnhony's school community, and a warm welcome to families new to our community. I hope you find St Anthony's School to be a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment that your children thrive in.

I hope your child/children are settling into the new school year and are enjoying getting to know their teacher, education assistants and classmates.

If at any stage during the year circumstances arise that affect your child emotionally or socially, you can discuss your concerns with your child's teacher or myself so we can work together to support your child and help them to overcome any challenges.

I work at St Anthony's School on Tuesday and Wednesday, I can be contacted via the school office 93037500 or by email ann.peart@cewa.edu.au
