The Weekly Update 8/29/25

Notes from the Office
Dear Families,
We are so excited to officially welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! It was wonderful to see so many of you at Supply Drop-Off and Welcome Back Night. The energy, excitement, and smiles from students and families truly set the tone for a fantastic year ahead.
As we look forward to the first day of school on Wednesday, September 3rd, our staff is eager to greet your children, build new relationships, and begin a year filled with learning, growth, and success.
Thank you for partnering with us and for being such an important part of our school community. Together, we know this will be a great year for our students.
We can’t wait to see everyone on the first day!

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Thank you for your support in helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient for all students. Please review the following procedures:
Morning Drop-Off:
-
Parents should line up and enter the loop from the same direction—please do not cut into the line from the opposite side.
-
To keep traffic moving:
-
Have your child ready to exit the vehicle.
-
Remain in your car while staff assist (other than students who need to be unbuckled from a car seat)
-
Pull all the way forward before stopping.
-
-
If your child needs extra time, please park and a staff member will come to your car to walk your child to the sidewalk.
-
Parents will begin drop-off using the side loop. Once buses have departed, both the side loop and front loop will be open. (See map below)
Afternoon Pick-Up
-
Dismissal begins at 3:10 pm in the front loop.
-
Families will be arranged by the youngest student in your household:
-
Pre-K – curb lane (closest to the school).
-
Kindergarten–Grade 2 – middle lane.
-
Grades 3–5 – far lane.
-
-
Student pick-up procedures:
-
Display your parking tag (staff will enter your number in our system).
-
Follow staff directions and remain in your car.
-
Staff will assist students into vehicles in the loading zone.
-
Follow traffic flow and turn right out of the lot when exiting.
-
-
For safety, we encourage families to position car seats on the passenger side when possible.
Safety & Support
-
Officer Wheeler, our School Resource Officer, will be present to help with traffic and ensure safety.
We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and partnership as we work together to make arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for all students. If you have any questions, please contact the main office.

Important Changes for School Lunches
It is essential that anyone who feels they may be eligible for free and reduced meals to fill out the 2025-2026 Free and Reduced lunch application that is available below. Procedures are in place to protect the privacy of students participating in the free and reduced program. Receiving Free and Reduced meals does not solely benefit the student receiving the meal, it also benefits the district community; depending on the amount of need within our district, we will receive/be eligible for additional funding. Completed applications should be sent to J. Schwarz at 4040 Baker Road, Orchard Park, NY 14127. Link for application.
