📣 A Message to Our Carver Families

Recently, the district announced that our school will be closing at the end of this school year. While this news is difficult for all of us, we want our families to know that our work is far from over. We still have important goals to reach, memories to make, and milestones to celebrate. We are committed to continuing to support our students and families every step of the way—and we plan to go out with a bang!

As we move into the spring months, we ask that you continue partnering with us to support your child’s learning. End-of-Grade (EOG) testing is quickly approaching, and we want our students to feel confident, prepared, and proud of their efforts. We are expecting great things from our students this year!

We also have many fun and exciting events planned for our students and families as we close out the year together. Your presence and encouragement mean everything to our children, and we thank you for standing with us during this time.

Looking ahead to next school year, all Carver students will attend E.O. Young Elementary School. Transportation will be provided. Families who choose not to attend E.O. Young Elementary may submit a transfer request; however, transportation will be the responsibility of the parent or guardian.

Together, let’s finish this school year strong, proud, and united. 💙🦅

🚌 Love the Bus Driver Month 🚌

During the month of February, we celebrated Love the Bus Driver Month.

Bus drivers play an important role in student success by ensuring our children get to school safely and start their day feeling welcomed and cared for.

They are a vital part of our team and a key piece of our Race to Success.

We are grateful for their dedication, patience, and commitment to our students every single day.

🏁 Racing to Success Through Art & Conservation! 🌎💧

The Henderson County Soil & Water Conservation District sponsors a poster contest each year to give third through sixth grade students the opportunity to explore soil and water conservation through poster art. This year’s theme was “We All Live in a Watershed.”

Carver is proud to announce that our students submitted posters that were worthy of winning!

Ja’Riyah – First Place

Aniyah – Second Place

Kamonni – Third Place

Each of these students also received a cash prize for their outstanding work!

We would also like to extend a special thank you to their art teacher, Mrs. Parham, for guiding and supporting our students throughout this project. Her dedication and encouragement helped make their success possible.

At Carver, we are Racing to Success by using our creativity, learning about our environment, and showing that our students can shine both inside and outside the classroom. We are so proud of these young artists for representing our school and demonstrating what it means to be responsible citizens of our watershed community!

Congratulations to Ja’Riyah, Aniyah, and Kamonni! Keep racing to success!

Our SAVE Promise Club proudly participated in No One Eats Alone Day, reminding us that kindness, inclusion, and connection are all part of the journey to success.

Students made a special effort to sit with new friends, invite others to join them, and show that everyone belongs here at our school. When we look out for one another, we build a stronger community and create a positive environment where everyone can thrive.

At Carver, we know that success isn’t just about academics — it’s also about how we treat each other. Today’s lunchroom was full of smiles, conversations, and examples of what it truly means to be Racing to Success together!

It’s time to collect gallery-ready student artwork to be displayed at the Administrative Services Center and CFI for the 2026–2027 school year! We are looking for 64 original pieces, and we want representation from every VCS school.

Submission Guidelines:

• All artwork must be approved as gallery-ready by an art teacher

• Maximum size is 22" x 28"

• No thick canvas or 3D pieces (they will not fit in frames)

• All work must be original

• Digital artwork is accepted (digital pieces will be reproduced for framing)

Deadline: April 17

Artwork may be submitted at any time before the deadline.

Students should turn in their artwork to their art teacher. If your school does not have an art teacher, submit pieces to the school office for Mr. Markoch to collect.

Don’t forget! The required submission form must also be completed so we can properly display student work.
