Hello Bulldog Families.

Believe it or not, we have officially wrapped up our first week of the fourth quarter! With only two weeks left until spring break, it’s important that we help high school students stay focused and organized to successfully wrap up the 2025-2026 school year.

With this edition, I’ve added the families of our current 8th grade students, the Class of 2030, to the email list so that they get a glimpse of all of the awesome students and programs available at Batavia High school. Class of 2030 families, welcome to our weekly newsletter!

This edition of The BHS Express contains several photos of our students and some of the opportunities they’ve experienced the last few weeks. Also, take a moment to click on the link to the news story about our nationally-recognized school store.

If sophomore parents missed the webinar to review their students’ LEAP ACT Practice Diagnostic Test, feel free to click on the link in the notes section below to access the recording. You may want to have their LEAP report near you as you view the video.

Senior families, we know this is the time of year where everyone gets excited to know about all of the senior celebratory events! Check out the flyer in this newsletter and review the email I sent directly to you. Please note that the senior walkthrough on May 15th is for our seniors to walk through all three buildings. Parents are not permitted in our buildings to view this celebration as this is a special moment for our seniors and ALL of Batavia Schools' staff members. Parents and families are welcome to attend the final drive out parade which will take place after our graduation practice on May 20th. We will be providing more details about parent arrival time for car decorating as this date approaches.

Be sure to get your tickets to the high school musical, The Addams Family, soon. Our students have been putting in a lot of work, and I’m confident they will deliver a fantastic performance!

We hope you all have a great weekend, and we look forward to welcoming back our high school students on Monday, March 16th!

In service to our Bulldogs.

.

Parents, please remind student drivers to:

  • Arrive safely and on time each morning

  • Be aware of our SRO’s/crossing guards working traffic detail each morning and afternoon.

  • Park in their assigned parking spot.

  • Communicate with me if any parking issues arise.

Have a nice weekend.

SchooLinks Access for Parents

What is SchooLinks? SchooLinks is a new online platform Batavia is utilizing this year that provides a variety of tools designed to help students explore and collect information on colleges, careers, and tracking how they are meeting their graduation requirements -, as well as developing a plan for after high school. Guardians can track their student's progress and support their journey toward post-secondary success. The attached document gives guardians directions for logging into SchooLinks and viewing their student’s account.

The FAFSA Application is Open!!!!

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!

  • The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.

  • For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
