Methacton Matters
November 2025
As we enter the holiday season, and the season of giving, I want to pause to recognize the power of the Methacton community. This season gives us a chance to honor the people who make our schools strong: our students, staff, families, and partners. I’m grateful for every one of you. Your steady support allows our teachers to teach well, our students to learn with purpose, and our schools to remain places where character matters just as much as achievement.
Across the district, our students and staff have been rolling up their sleeves and giving back in ways that reflect the very best of who we are. The Arcola Connection Club collected hundreds of dollars during Red Ribbon Week to support treatments for substance use and behavioral health at Eagleville Hospital. At the high school, the Key Club has participated in a variety of volunteer events this fall, from working at Martha's Community Farm and the Garden of Health to helping with the Daily Bread Food Pantry Boy Scout Food Drive. The staff at the High School, Arcola and the Farina Administration Building spread some cheer as well, collecting enough food to provide full Thanksgiving meals to over 50 families - complete with turkey, stuffing, pies and all the fixings!
And the giving will continue through the rest of the holiday season, with Worcester's Student Council making their annual shopping trip to purchase gifts and food for Methacton families across the district. The Methacton Mentors at the high school will be collecting donations of essential items like clothing, toiletries and school supplies for Mitzvah Circle, a local organization that supports families in need. Arrowhead students will use the funds from their recent Coins for Council drive for upcoming service projects, giving them the means to continue supporting the community for the rest of the school year.
These efforts—large and small—speak to a district that cares about its greater community and reaches outward with purpose.
As you gather with loved ones in the days ahead, I hope you find rest, connection, and time to reflect on the good that surrounds us. I am grateful for your partnership and the countless ways you help keep our district strong.
Meet Mark Stead - Methacton's New Police Chief
On Friday, November 7th, Methacton School District welcomed its first Chief of Police, Chief Mark Stead. With over 25 years of dedicated service to the Lower Providence and Methacton communities as a police sergeant and School Resource Officer, Chief Stead brings experience, familiarity, and heartfelt commitment to this role. As Chief of Police, he will oversee safety and security for all Methacton students, staff, and facilities, and he plans to visit all buildings regularly.
Living Our Values
Veterans Day Celebrations Demonstrate Honor and Respect for Nation's Heroes
Across the district, schools marked Veterans Day with sincere and respectful assemblies that put our nation’s heroes front and center.
Veterans were welcomed into buildings decorated with pride and care. Students honored them through patriotic songs, musical performances, and thoughtful introductions recognizing each branch of the military. Many Veterans visited classrooms to share their stories and answer students’ questions, while others took the stage as keynote speakers—offering students a unique firsthand perspective of their time in the serving our country.
This tradition speaks directly to our Methacton core value of honoring our heritage—reminding students of the importance of respecting those who came before us and preserving the stories that shaped our nation.
Community Connections
High School Students Serve at the Polls
Students took on a variety of important roles, including serving as clerks, check-in helpers, greeters, and even assisting voters with the voting machines. This nonpartisan program gives students a firsthand look at how democracy works while meeting a real need in local elections.
