Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Please take note of where your child enters and dismisses from each day. It is suggested that you use the Open House day to practice drop off and pick up with your child.

All students in grades K-5 will enter the cafeteria door to the left of the main entrance for breakfast. Teachers will pick students up from the cafeteria at 8:45 am. Students arriving after 8:55 am must enter using the main entrance and get a late pass. Please see the campus pictures below for entry and dismissal doors to ensure a safe and orderly entry and dismissal for students and families.

Traffic Patterns & Parent Parking

To alleviate traffic congestion and promote student safety, we are asking parents to adhere to the following suggestions:

  • Parking during Drop Off: Those who want to walk students to their entry door in the morning should park in the fenced-in lot directly in front of the school.
  • Parking during Pick Up (Grades PK - 2): Park in the fenced-in lot directly in front of the school and walk to your child's dismissal door to pick them up.
  • Parking during Pick Up (Grades 3 - 5): Park in the Wolfe Street parking lot in the back of the school and walk to your child's dismissal door to pick them up.

Please remember that we share our campus with another school that dismisses at the same time as us. Please park in designated areas so that we can facilitate a safe and orderly dismissal.

Early Dismissals

The following procedures are mandated to ensure that proper protocol from City school policy is being followed. All parents must have IDs when picking up students and parents must be on Student IC to be authorized to pick up. Parents must send written documentation and have communication with the classroom teacher for anyone else to pick-up the child early.

To maintain a safe dismissal, early dismissals are not allowed after 3:30 pm on Monday – Thursday and 2:15 pm on Friday. Additionally, all adults picking students up for Early Dismissal will be required to have valid identification as well as be listed as an emergency contact in the student file. If you would like to add a family member to the emergency contact list, please contact our secretary, Ms. Long, at long@thehhschool.org.

Visitor Policy

Any visitor to the building must enter the main office to receive a visitor pass (sticker) and place it on their person BEFORE leaving the office to enter the school. This includes breakfast

All visitors to our building must show valid identification and be processed through the visitor pass station daily. Visitors without a valid ID will not be allowed entry into the building. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. This is a district requirement and it is for the safety of your child.
