Region-wide, the Northern Region Educational Services Commission (NRESC) fills district needs for specialized personnel including:

• Speech/Language Pathologists
• Occupational Therapists
• COTAs
• Physical Therapists
• BCBAs
• Child Study Evaluation Teams (Social Worker, LDT-C, School Psychologists)

Check out these therapy activities from our Speech and Language Pathologist, Alexandra! Students at JP Holland Charter School matched synonyms (card game), categorized vocabulary (apple tree with apple bins), and made associations (pumpkin worksheet).

1. Students pick up a pumpkin face and step into a giant pumpkin patch. Here pre-k students work on self-regulation skills as they identify emotions. Balance and coordination are targeted by stepping into the Pumpkin Patch.

2. Build a pumpkin tower: Students work on reaching, bilateral coordination, and upper body strength.

3. Build your own Pumpkin Face. Here students are in quadruped working on weight-bearing upper body strength, visual spatial skills, and body awareness.

4. Writing with tactile raised lined paper from Pocket Full of Therapy. A space man from Learning Without Tears was used to help the student with spacing. A foam
Pumpkin was built at the end to add some fall fun!

At Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology, students are celebrating World Mental Health Day by practicing yoga. In Hemel's Occupational Therapy sessions, students keep their minds and bodies healthy!
