Dear Families:
Our Read Across America events came to a close week. This week our hometown heroes were our guest readers. On behalf of the staff and students, we would like to thank Sergeant Jennifer Pompeo, School Resource officer James Flanagan, State Representative James Murphy, and of course our parents, siblings, and cousin. Thank you all for visiting us and sharing your joy for literacy.
We are so proud to announce that after 31 days of our March Read Across America Month, our students read a grand total of 1,162 books/chapters! A big hip-hip-hooray to the 5th graders who hung up all the hats and then counted them! We are so proud of this outcome and are incredibly thankful to our families, for helping to encourage a love of reading; and to our teachers/staff for cheering them on! Students have earned an extra recess with dancing and music! We would also like to acknowledge all the spirit days the students participated in! Their spirit and enthusiasm did not go unnoticed! Thank you, as always, for your support and encouragement.

Parent announcements:
Parent council meeting next monthApril 12th at 6:00pm in our library
The parent council will be offering spring enrichment programs. Some programs will run before and after school. Stay tuned for more information.
Please dress the children warmly. The weather has finally become colder. We use a weather chart to direct how long the kids should stay outside for recess. Studies show that children need frequent breaks, fresh air and movement for their physical and mental wellness. We strive to have them go outside as much as possible (weather-dependant).
