New Club! Explorations in Innovation
Welcome to Explorations in Innovation, our new schoolwide club dedicated to exploring the cutting edge of STEM!
What We Do: We focus on student-designed explorations, diving into activities and local companies in the world of science, technology, engineering, and math. Our monthly "in-school" gatherings are active planning sessions where we brainstorm and prepare for experiences, speakers, and field trips that happen throughout the rest of the school year.
Meeting Schedule: Students will meet during lunch on Wednesdays once a month in Mrs. Hansen's classroom (Rm. 141 down past the gym). To make sure everyone gets the right access, we are splitting into two groups based on grade level:
- Upperclassmen (11th/12th graders) meet on the 1st Wednesday of each month - First meeting Wedns, 10/21, Rm. 141.
- Underclassmen (9th/10th graders) meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. - First meeting Wedns, 11/4, Rm. 141.
How It Works: Because the needs of the two groups are different, the way you design your explorations will play out a bit differently. However, the actual experiences and field trips will be available to all club members, no matter your grade. We can't wait to see what you create!

The BHS Library Service-to-Go Program offers students the opportunity to earn an hour of community service in the library during an open period, learning about a local nonprofit and assisting them in a fairly basic task that frees up their time to focus on their very important work. On Tuesday and Wednesday, November 4th and 5th, we will be helping Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud prepare for their participation in Loveland’s Veteran's Day Festivities and Festival of Lights by stickering and writing on the cups they will serve cocoa to attendees in. This simple activity makes a big difference to them and is a convenient way for you to earn service hours! Come to the library during one or multiple open periods to participate. Contact Ms. Barrett with any questions.
