π» 4th Grade - New Jersey Student Learning Assessment Adaptive Field Test π
October 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) Adaptive Field Test will be administered to all fourth-grade students at Roosevelt School on Wednesday, October 29, and Thursday, October 30, 2025. Testing will take place each morning for approximately two hours.
This Adaptive Field Test is part of the New Jersey Department of Educationβs effort to pilot new, computer-adaptive items that may be used in future NJSLA assessments. The purpose of the field test is to ensure that the questions are fair, accessible, and appropriately measure grade-level standards. While individual student scores will not be reported, participation helps improve the quality and accuracy of future statewide assessments.
To help your child do their best, please:
Ensure that your child arrives to school on time each testing day.
Encourage a good nightβs sleep and a healthy breakfast.
Remind your child to bring their fully charged Chromebook each day.
Reassure your child that this assessment is simply an opportunity to try their best and help the state improve the test for all students.
We appreciate your partnership in supporting our students as they participate in this important statewide initiative. If you have any questions about the NJSLA Adaptive Field Test, please contact your childβs teacher or the main office.
Sincerely,
Kelli Eppley
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction
