IT'S "KNOW"VEMBER!

The month of November brings with it more opportunities to engage in reading initiatives and learning. In the spirit of "knowing," I will be sharing lots of non-fiction texts and discussing what we KNOW as a result of reading them! We will also be using Beanstack, MyOn, Accelerated Reader, E-read Kids, Overdrive Kids and Class Pass with Atlanta/Fulton Public Library! I am here to assist you with your literacy needs. Need assistance with MyOn, Accelerated Reader, Beanstack, Class Pass or materials to support lesson planning or want to collaborate with me? Just send me a quick email @drrice@atlanta.k12.ga.us. Happy Reading!

Mrs. Rice's Reading Choice Board

Please continue to use our Reading Choice Board with your students. If you need more copies, please let me know. Find it here also. You can log your reading minutes on Beanstack directly from the Choice Board.

SEL Book of the Month

One tiny act of kindness can have a huge impact. And in this heartwarming, hopeful story, a simple letter does just that. A true story that quickly went viral, this is now a timely, extraordinary picture book. Sincerely, Emerson follows eleven-year-old Emerson Weber as she writes a letter of thanks to her postal carrier, Doug, and creates a nationwide outpouring of love. This is a story of gratitude, hope, and recognition: for all the essential helpers we see everyday, and all those who go unseen.
