Sierra and I are so excited to begin the new school year at Timber Trail Elementary!

A big welcome to all our new families—we’re thrilled you’ve joined the Timber Trail community! We can’t wait to partner with you, cheer on your students, and watch them grow and succeed. At Timber Trail, connection is at the heart of everything we do, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

The first days of school bring excitement (and maybe a few butterflies), but please know—we’ve got this, and we’ve got you! If you ever need anything, our doors are always open.

Here’s to a year of learning, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for being such an important part of what makes Timber Trail the school “Where Hearts and Minds Connect.”

Please call the office by 3:00 at 303-387-5700 if you need to make a change to your child’s dismissal. We ask that you call the office if there is a change and not email the teachers in case they don’t have a chance to see the email, or are out for any reason. Walkers will come out at the 3:30 bell, and no dismissal numbers will be called for them.

Please do not get out of your car during car line (morning or afternoon) for safety purposes and to keep the cars flowing smoothly. If you need to get out of your car for any reason, please park in the lot to assist your child or to get items out of the car. We have crossing guards happy to help your children cross safely to and from the front doors.

Please do not call the office during the dismissal process (3:20-3:35) as we are unable to answer the phones at that time.

Attendance matters!!! Please read these guidelines for all students to make sure your students stay on the right track. Please try to plan time away from school around the school calendar attached here.

Call the Attendance line at 303-387-5702 to report late arrivals or absences 24 hours a day. For your convenience, you can also email our attendance line at: tte.attendance-usergroup@dcsdk12.org

Attendance Guidelines and Laws

It is imperative to have someone in your family signed up to receive Emergency Communications that are pushed out from the school and/or our District. Please see this link for information and directions to make sure you will receive important communications.

Please do not unsubscribe from any communications because it will block all TTE and District notices.

Each year, Douglas County Schools conducts vision and hearing screenings for all students in the state-

mandated grades (K, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9), as well as new students and special education students in all

grades. The screenings are overseen by the School Nurse Consultants and conducted by the District Vision and Hearing Screening Team. The purpose of mass screenings is to detect academically significant vision and hearing concerns.

There is a rolling cancellation schedule to accommodate all of DCSD. Please note these in your calendars and arrange for your child's change in transportation if affected.

Please plan for your kiddos to wear their favorite picture clothes and come to school with a big smile. Order forms will come home in Thursday folders for ordering on the day of pictures, or you can use the link above to do this online.

Our wonderful Librarian, Mrs. Patterson, is excited to start having classes in the Library in the coming weeks. Please see this letter with information and important guidelines for the Library.

Welcome back to school TTE families!

I hope that you had a great summer break and am ready for the school year. My name is Luann Kenfield and I am excited to be working with the TTE staff and community. Please see the link to the Counselor’s Corner here for information about this year’s school counseling program at Timber Trail. I will update families with resources in the community and weekly newsletters to keep you in the loop about our school counseling program.

We love to have parents volunteer for multiple things! If you plan to volunteer in the building at any time, please complete this confidentiality form that is required and return it to the office. Thank you for bringing this completed form with you for us to have on file for this school year. This is in addition to answering the volunteer interest form in Express Check In.

***You do not need to provide your driver's license information on the form as it will be checked when you scan in as a visitor/volunteer in the Raptor system.

Please plan to participate in our wonderful reading program, Road to the Rockies. Students can earn prizes each month, and be eligible for a grand prize at the end of the year.
