Early Release Day - Wednesday, September 24th
Wednesday, September 24th full day Kindergarten and grades 1-4 elementary students in Avon Lake City Schools will be dismissed at 12:00 to a planned early release day. Our school day will begin at the regular time of 8:50 and students will be dismissed from the elementary buildings at noon. Dismissal will follow the regular process at 12:00.
Students in the half day Kindergarten classes will depart school at the normal time of 11:30.
Students will eat lunch in the classroom and will be held from 11:15-11:45. Students may pack or purchase a school lunch. If your child buys a school lunch, the menu is below.

Students that attend the Champions program after school will not go there due to the buildings closing at noon.
Student Tickets for Athletic Contests at Avon Lake
Thanks to the Avon Lake Athletic Boosters, all Avon Lake students K-12 will be admitted free of charge to all regular season athletic events at Learwood and ALHS. To obtain your free ticket go to:

1. Click on ALHS 2025-26 All Sports Passes - Buy Pass
2. Click on Have a Passcode
3. Enter your Avon Lake student # as the passcode
4. Click on Student All Sports Pass and change the quantity to 1, click check out
5. Enter your name and email and receive your athletic pass for the entire 2025-2026 school year.
Once you get your season pass you can save the email or screenshot the QR code as you will need this to scan in at all events.

Eager Artists and Eager Engineers
The attached flyers below are for students to sign up for an after-school program called Eager Artists or Eager Engineers. Both offerings are using the Westview Cafeteria as the location for the activities, but are not considered after school programs sponsored by Westview as our staff is not leading either group.
Big Trucks!
Join us Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10 AM – 2 PM (Rain or Shine) at the Avon Lake Safety Center for our annual Big Trucks event! This FREE community event introduces families to the trucks, vehicles, and equipment that keep our city safe and running smoothly.

🍔 Food Trucks On-Site:

🎟 Big Trucks Passport Challenge (for kids 18 & under):
- Pick up your passport at the DJ booth.
- Visit vendors inside the fire station garage and collect stamps.
- Redeem your completed passport at the DJ booth for a food truck coupon (valid 9/20/25 only, while supplies last).
🚗 Parking & Shuttle Service:
No parking is available at the Safety Center. Parking is provided at Towne Center (center section near the old Tops building). Shuttle service is available courtesy of Sprenger Towne Center, with crossing assistance at Walker Road.
