The Weekly Words
April 5, 2026
At Noble Elementary, we believe that every student has the right to learn and grow in a safe and respectful environment. We also believe that every student has the power to make positive choices, learn from mistakes, and become stronger leaders in our school community. Noble Elementary empowers all students for college and career readiness through AVID’s schoolwide focus on WICOR, student success skills, and a growth mindset.
Today, we celebrate a season of hope, renewal, and new beginnings. Whether you observe Easter through faith, family traditions, or simply as a time to pause and reflect, we hope your day is filled with peace, joy, and love.
Wishing you a meaningful Easter and a beautiful start to the spring season.
Be Better, Do Better, & Make Better
Team,
As we finally enter the weeks of OST, it calls for a time of reflection and resolution—to be better, do better, and make better. We have an incredible opportunity in our roles to accomplish all three. This season will bring moments of inspiration, tough challenges, and the strengthening of bonds between colleagues and students. Set your sights on how you can be better, do better, and make better—for yourself, for Noble, and for our students. I am truly excited to take on the OST and all that it will bring.
Over the next couple of months, we will continue to conduct debriefs with each of you as part of the OTES 2.0 Evaluation process and evaluating our PGPs. This will be a chance to step back and reflect on where we are at this point in the year. In addition to the questions in the framework, consider the following:
• What’s working for you at Noble?
• What’s not working for you at Noble?
• What big picture questions do you have for this year and next school year?
Mr. Walker, M.Ed.
Principal
From the Assistant Principal's Desk
Hi team!
I hope everyone had a smooth transition back after Spring Break and that you are able to enjoy some time to rest and recharge over this brief "April Break." Thank you for all you continue to do each day to support our students and our school community; your efforts are making a difference. Over the past week, it has been great to see students continuing to demonstrate the Noble Big 4, and the positive growth in both behavior and school culture remains evident throughout the building.
To celebrate these efforts, we’ve continued recognizing classes with Golden Tickets when students are caught showing positive behavior in hallways, at recess, during dismissal, and across the school. Once a class earns 12 Golden Tickets, they receive a small celebration to recognize their teamwork and commitment to maintaining a positive environment. Thank you for reinforcing these expectations and helping keep the momentum strong.
I also want to extend my appreciation for the time and care you put into connecting with families. Those conversations are essential in strengthening our partnership with families and ensuring we are supporting each student as we move through the final stretch of the school year.

Communication Plan - Persons with Disabilities
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available at the following link: Communication Plan. OST Draft Plan/Schedule
OST is right around the corner. Please take a few moments to review the OST Draft, which includes a tentative testing schedule. Your feedback is essential, add any questions, concerns, or suggestions directly into the sheet so we can refine the plan and ensure a smooth and successful testing experience for our students and staff.
One Book, One School
We are excited to kick off our schoolwide reading experience, One Book, One School, featuring The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies!
Over the next several weeks, all students in grades 1–5 will receive a copy of the book and participate in reading during the school day. This is a great opportunity to build a shared literacy experience across our building and strengthen connections through a common text.
To support implementation:
- Please ensure students are engaging with the text during designated reading times
- Encourage classroom discussion and connections to deepen comprehension
- Reinforce participation and excitement around the shared experience
Families have access to additional resources, including chapter read-aloud videos, nightly trivia, and more. Students should also be encouraged to follow along with the reading calendar to stay on pace.
This initiative is designed to:
- Build reading comprehension
- Promote meaningful conversations
- Foster a love of reading across grade levels
- Strengthen school-wide community
📅 Literacy Night: May 14 | 5:00–6:30 PM
We encourage staff support in promoting this event to families as we celebrate this shared experience together.
