November 13th, 2024

We would like to extend an invitation to any Veteran to participate with their student and eat either breakfast or lunch on November 13, 2024. There will be no charge for the meal and it is just a small token of appreciation for your service.

We are also excited to invite you to our annual Veterans Day Assembly to honor and recognize the service of our Veterans. We hope you and your family can join us to celebrate those who have served. Our assembly will be at 2:45 on November 13th, 2024.

We would love to make this event even more personal by including photos of Veterans you know! We encourage you to send us a photo, ideally with your student and their Veteran, to be featured in our assembly.

To share your photo, please email it to Mrs. Williams at williams.sara@battlegroundps.org and include the following information:

Student name(s) and grade(s)
Photo with Name of Veteran(s) and their relationship to the student
Optional: Any details about when/how the Veteran served, their branch of service, and their title or rank.

In accordance with the medication policy and due to concerns of choking, allergic reactions and overuse, we are sending this reminder that medicated cough drops (those with any additives such as menthol, vitamins, cough suppressants, etc.) are regarded as medications and therefore require written permission from BOTH the student's physician and parent/guardian. As with any other medications, these medicated cough drops should be delivered to school by an adult, leaving just enough for one week with the school nurse. If your child still needs them after one week, you should consult your child's physician.

Sipping water all day is just as effective, with the added bonus of increased hydration and quicker recovery. Feel free to send your child to school with their own water bottle.

Our goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of all students during the school day and we appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines.
