Panther Update Family Edition #6
September 11, 2026

A Note From the Principal
Congratulations to all of our Panther athletes on another successful week! We have certainly been fortunate that the weather has cooperated, allowing our students to compete, grow, and represent HIJH so well. We are proud of their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
I also want to share a personal update with our Panther families. I will be taking a brief leave of absence to care for an aging parent who is ill. During my absence, Mr. Tyler Roberts, one of our current assistant principals, will serve as the point person for HIJH. Mrs. Suzanne Olson will step into an administrative role and work alongside Mr. Jeff Iagulli to address assistant principal responsibilities.
I am confident that our students, staff, and families will continue to be well supported by this strong leadership team. I sincerely appreciate your understanding, kindness, and support during this difficult time.

Battle of the Badges
Fishers Fire Dept. vs Fishers Police Dept. Softball Game
The Tie Breaker 🚒🚓
Join us at Holland Park on Saturday, September 26, for the annual Battle of the Badges softball game! Festivities kick off at 5:00 PM, and the first pitch is set for 5:30 PM.
Beyond being a great family-friendly evening out, this event holds special meaning for our community. All proceeds go directly to the Fishers Fire Foundation and Fishers Police Foundation, helping provide vital resources and mental health and wellness support for our first responders and their families. It’s a wonderful chance to have fun while showing our appreciation for the dedicated men and women who keep Fishers safe every single day. We hope to see you there!

Camp Tecumseh
Calling all 7th grade Dads, we are still in need of cabin dads for our upcoming trip to Camp Tecumseh.
We cannot pull this trip off each year without amazing cabin dads! This is an amazing opportunity to share a unique experience with your child in beautiful Brookston, Indiana.
The dates for our trip are Wednesday, October 28th-Friday, October 30th. If you are interested in being a cabin dad, please reach out to Nick Hibner at nhibner@hse.k12.in.us for more information. Thank you!
Clinic Minutes
Now that we are all gathered together for another great school year, this is when we see an increase in coughs and colds. Please remind your student to:
Wash hands often, especially after coughing, sneezing and using the bathroom
Cough or sneeze in the crook of their arm and not their hands
If they do cough/sneeze in their hand, please wash them immediately or use hand sanitizer
PLEASE complete your student's health card on Skyward. Go to your Skyward account and click on the tile reading "Student Health Card". Completing this ensures your student gets the best care possible and keeps them in school to learn.

Snack Attack
Fishers Youth Initiative is pleased to offer Snack Attack again this school year and continue to support students in HSE Schools.
For those unfamiliar, Snack Attack is a simple program designed to help students needing a little extra nourishment to get them through the weekend until they can receive a hot meal at school on Monday. There is no cost to the family or to the school, families just need to opt in to the service and sign up via our link ( https://fishersyouthinitiative.org/snack-attack-registration/ ). All students in need are welcome to participate.
Here’s what you need to do to be a part of FYI’s Snack Attack:
Share program information with students. We encourage buildings to share Snack Attack information in school/teacher newsletters. Here is the link to sign up: https://fishersyouthinitiative.org/snack-attack-registration/
If you have families that have given you permission, you are more than welcome to sign them up.

Students of The Month
Congratulations to our August Students of the Month!
Our Students of the Month embody our PAWS character traits: Positivity, Accountability, Well-Mannered, and being Safe.
These students do more than know these words, they live them through their choices, their actions, and the way they treat others each day. Thank you for setting such a positive example for our entire school!
