Welcome back for the 2025-26 school year! We are so excited to begin another great year at the Hive! We are thrilled to move into our newly constructed office and newly renovated classrooms at Heather Hill! We are so grateful to the Board of Education for this amazing opportunity. We also appreciate our district administration, custodial, and construction teams that have worked so diligently to keep the project moving and on target!

In case you are just learning about the updates at Heather Hill, the summer construction project included the following:

• NEW office addition
• In each classroom:
• new student and teacher furniture
• technology: Clear Touch panels
• ceilings tiles, lights, and cabling
• hallways and classrooms repainted
• bathroom renovations: tiling, stalls, sinks
• NEW playground equipment on the intermediate side (in progress)
• new classroom, enlarged classroom, and new teachers' lounge and workspace
• 4 new accessible bathrooms

Below are some pictures of the construction in progress. We look forward to showcasing the new office during Class Assignment Pick-up Days (see flyer below). Please plan to come to the Heather Hill Office (new Door A: "Main Entrance") for Class Assignment Pick-up.

We will also showcase the new classroom updates during Open House on Tuesday, 9/9 from 6:00-7:30 pm! So, mark your calendars. We can't wait for a great 2025-26 school year. Our theme this year is "Rooting for each other and growing together!"

Please be aware that much is happening at HH to get the building ready for staff and students! Please talk with children and make sure they understand to stay away from all construction areas for everyone's safety--including the intermediate playground!

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Seena Purham as Heather Hill's new Assistant Principal! Mrs. Purham was formerly the K-1 Instructional Teacher at Heather Hill. Mrs. Purham brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role including work in special education and STEM.

Monday - Friday

• 8:30 am - 8:40 am - Arrival (Doors will close at 8:40 am!)
• 8:40 am - 3:15 pm - Instructional Day
• 3:15 pm - Dismissal

Half day dismissal (half days on District calendar) - 11:40 am

• If you have not already completed online registration and residency verification (grades K, 3, 6 + new students) please do immediately! We want to ensure all students are able to attend Heather Hill. If this information is not completed, your child's spot at Heather Hill will not be secured!
• Online registration via Family Access in Skyward has been open and you should complete this process as soon as possible. Your child’s place in their current school will not be guaranteed until online registration is completed.
• If you are required to prove residency, please click here for instructions on how to submit your proof of residency.

Do you know any families with Kindergarten students in your neighborhood? Please encourage them to register for school now! We need to make sure to complete the registration and residency process for all incoming Kindergarten and new students as soon as possible!

• Signing up for District 161’s text message alerts is quick and easy. Simply text the word “YES” to 67587 from the cell phone on which you wish to receive text messages.
