DMS Delivers
April 17, 2025
Dear DMS Families,
As we move into next week, we wish all students and families a wonderful vacation. The weather is looking to be beautiful over the next ten days, and we hope students are able to relax and rejuvenate over the next week. The end of the year is going to fly by once we return from break. As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow in observance of Good Friday.
With that, we will continue with MCAS testing upon our return. Grade 8 will take their STE exam on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 29th and 30th, and grade 5 will take their STE exam on Thursday and Friday, May 1st and 2nd. Testing in Math will begin the following week. As we said before, we are so proud of how hard students have worked. The data we receive from annual MCAS testing helps us to see how our students/schools are performing compared to schools that are similar to our community. It helps us to identify areas of strength and areas that need improvement through professional development, curriculum resource review, instructional practices and student support. This information is integral to ensuring school improvement as we move forward.
Below you will find the PTO May Newsletter, as well as information from the Dighton Public Library, the DR Summer Experience, the Youth Police Summer Academy and various fliers from the community. Don't forget to also support our PTO during their BOGO Book Fair, and also when you shop at Hannafords.
Have a great week, and enjoy the beautiful weather! Please also find our April Wellness Newsletter.

Dighton Public Library Partnership
As we move forward, we would like to continue to forge partnerships between DMS and the Dighton community. Did you know that the new location of the Dighton Public Library will house an entire collection of books and educational materials that are all accessible to the public at any time during their regular business hours? Students and families are welcome to take advantage of the variety of learning materials and tools that they have to offer.
We want students to be aware of all of the resources at their disposal in order to help them reach their goals and achieve success, so DMS staff will be partnering with the library on future classroom projects and potentially summer reading goals. We are excited to build this bridge within the community, and hope that you will take advantage of their resources as well. If you are interested in learning more, please check out their website.

DMS Breakfast/Lunch Menu
Reminder to Families
Dear DR Families,
As you may know, Massachusetts now provides free breakfast and lunch for all students across the Commonwealth!
We are encouraging families who may have qualified for the National Free & Reduced School Lunch Program in the past to complete the online application. This helps determine eligibility and ensures that we can continue to offer reduced or waived fees for various programs and activities. When completing the application, please remember to include consent for sharing your status with relevant departments and programs.
Without this qualification and your consent, we will be unable to provide reduced or waived fees.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Technology Repair Fees
Dear Families,
We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to maintaining our technology resources, we wanted to inform you about our updated repair fee structure. This will go into effect on October 28, 2024. These fees help us cover the cost of repairs when school-issued devices are damaged due to misuse or carelessness. The fees are divided into three tiers, depending on the extent of the damage:
- Level 1: Charger, Cover (top or bottom), Touchpad, etc- $40
- Level 2: Keyboard, Monitor- $75
- Level 3: Total Loss/Replacement- $300
We encourage students to handle their devices with care to avoid any damage and the associated costs. If a device does require repair, the appropriate fee will be communicated to you along with the steps to resolve the issue.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our technology in great condition!
In addition, if your child needs Chromebook repairs, you will receive an email directly from mySchoolBucks regarding payment.
