Billion Served, None Fed
Golden arches light up every street, promising cheap burgers and fries. In the suburbs, big cars pull up, parents talk about money, kids laugh and throw pickles at the sunroof, nuggets in one hand, TikTok in the other. They sip Sprite, ask for extra sauce, and laugh through the speaker, driving off full. But on 4th and Broken, a man sits on a bench that doesn’t even lean back. Same arches, same lights but no line, no fries, no laughter. He counts coins, not calories. He watches people leave with bags of food and smells the grease like it’s something special he can’t have. They say, Billions served, but not him. Not tonight. Dinner is a wish, and ketchup packets are all he has. A woman nearby holds her kid close, telling bedtime stories about cheeseburgers they might get one day. This isn’t a food chain. It’s a food wall. Some eat. Some watch. Have it your way only works if you can pay.

ACE Camp
he Aeronautical Center and AAR are hosting the 18th Annual Aviation Career Education (ACE) Camp tailored to students in the 7th and 8th grades. It’s four fun-filled days of aviation-related activities, perfect for young aviation enthusiasts or those who don’t know anything about aviation.
ACE Camp’s mission is to introduce students to a variety of careers that are available in aerospace, to learn about aviation, and to understand the importance that air transportation plays in our society and our economy.
The camp dates are June 9-12th, 2025, or June 23-26th, 2025. Both camps are from 8 am - 5 pm with lunches provided.
We are looking for 52 students who will be in the 7th or 8th grades during the 2025-2026 school year. Students must complete an application and provide a letter of recommendation. The one-week camp is free, but the application process is competitive, as only 26 students are selected for each camp. All applications will be reviewed and decided upon by a selection committee. The deadline to receive applications is April 30, 2025.
Applications, along with a letter of recommendation can be submitted through one of these options:
