Lincoln Lowdown- 4/28/25
Welcome Back!
Math is Awesome!
Dear Lincoln Families,
April is Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the role of math in helping us make sense of the world. From solving everyday problems to making data-driven decisions, math and statistics are powerful tools that support learning and critical thinking across all subjects.
This week also marks the beginning of CAASPP testing for our students. These assessments provide valuable insights into your child’s academic progress and help us tailor instruction to better meet their needs. We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of doing their best and taking pride in showing what they’ve learned.
Thank you for your continued support, and as always, we wish you a wonderful week ahead!

Staff Spotlight! Our New Administrative Assistant!
Linda Montes- Administrative Assistant
Name: Linda Montes
Place of Birth: Los Angeles
Years at Lincoln: 1 year at Lincoln, 7 years with the District
Favorite Educator: My fourth-grade teacher made an impact on me by helping a quiet, shy little girl believe in herself. At SMMUSD, my favorite teacher is Erin Schwarz. I met Erin at John Muir 6 years ago. As a teacher, she is one of a kind in the way she consistently goes above and beyond for her students. As a friend, she’s been a constant positive light- supportive and caring. Her guidance and encouragement over the years have meant a lot to me.
Fun Fact: Fun facts about me: I love to craft—if I had the energy and patience, I’d probably have my own party planning business. I’m a true crime junkie, and I bump Biggie Smalls in my car on the regular. I also love to travel—I spent a short time living in New York in my mid-20s, and I got married last June in beautiful Ireland.

ELAC Meeting!
Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who attended this past week’s ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) Meeting! We appreciated your participation and the great conversations we shared.
We were especially glad to provide information about the Seal of Biliteracy, an important recognition for students who demonstrate proficiency in two or more languages. Your engagement helps us support our multilingual learners and celebrate the rich diversity of our school community.
We look forward to seeing you at future meetings and continuing our partnership in supporting student success.
