Weekly Update

Thank you to everyone who came and shopped the book fair this week. We do not have final totals but I know we had some good business. Also thank you to the parent volunteers for coming in and helping with the book fair, it is much appreciated.

Below you will see photos of our school families enjoying their pie Thursday morning. Big thank you to everyone who donated a pie, plates or silverware to make this possible. It is truly a tradition we love having!

All of us at Jeff West Middle School are thankful for each and everyone of our students and their families. We all hope that you have a relaxing break and a Happy Thanksgiving!

5th Grade

This week, we talked about the health benefits of talking and thinking about things that you are thankful for and how to show gratitude to others. Students had the opportunity to change their GRIPES into GRATITUDE with a fun turkey craft project. For example, one thing we might GRIPE about is having to do laundry, but we are GRATEFUL that we have the ability to buy and wear new clothes. These turkeys went home with your student, so please ask them about them! What would yours say?!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Jeff West Middle School families! I am so, very grateful for each and every one of the students that walk these halls. Thank you for sharing them with us!

Girls Basketball- Girls need to be at the school at 2:45 on Monday November 20th for a shoot around prior to loading the bus to head to Royal Valley. Games are at 4:30, 7th grade plays at the Elementary school in Hoyt and 8th grade will play at the Middle School in Mayetta.

Practice over break will be Wednesday November 22nd at the MS from 8-10am and Saturday November 25th at the MS from 8-10am.

When we return from break we will play our last home game on Monday November 27th against Sabetha, this will be 8th grade parent night. The recognition will take place between the A and B games.

Thursday November 30th we will travel to Perry for games starting at 4:30pm.

Wrestling- Practice over break will be offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 8am.

Parent Night for 8th grade girls and managers will be on Monday November 27th during the basketball game. Girls can come down after practice, recognition will be between that A and B games. Parents and wrestlers are admitted free to the game.

Cost for Breakfast is $2.10- we start serving breakfast at 7:30 am

Lunch cost is $3.25- We are offering a hot meal, a sandwich and a salad option please make sure you let your child know what is on the lunch menu so they know what they would like when their teacher takes lunch count.

Monday 11/20- Girls Basketball at Royal Valley. Games start at 4:30pm, 8th grade is at the Middle School in Mayetta and 7th grade is at the Elementary School in Hoyt.

Monday 11/27- Girls Basketball at Home against Sabetha this will also be 8th grade Parent recognition for Girls basketball and Girls Wrestling. We will recognize between the A and B games.

Wednesday 11/29- All missing assignments are due and grades need to be brought up to qualify for the monthly celebration.

Thursday 11/29- Girls Basketball at Perry games start at 4:30pm

Don't forget to place your order for JW Fan wear for Christmas. The store closes on December 3rd. Items will be delivered to the school with your student's name on them.
