Mental Health Awareness Week
Dear Parent/Guardian:
This is a reminder that our annual depression and suicide awareness lesson and screener will be occurring over the next few weeks. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
The safety and health of our students is always our top priority. Millard Public Schools annually educates students about the signs of depression and suicide awareness. This process includes a depression/suicide screener and most importantly, what to do if you are feeling depressed or suicidal and how to get help. Our district believes it’s critical to provide this information to students, guardians, staff and community members.
Millard believes one should never take these warning signs lightly or promise to keep them a secret. We understand this topic can be difficult and overwhelming but keeping this an ongoing conversation can make a difference. Suicide is one of the leading causes of death among people from 10-34 years of age. We know suicide is preventable. Youth who are contemplating suicide often give warning signs of their distress. Guardians, teachers and friends are in key positions to notice these signs and to help. It is imperative for all to understand that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

MPS Community Engagement Survey
Millard families,
Your opinion matters. Millard Public Schools seeks to have engaged stakeholders to meet its mission. Strategy 1.2 (2018) calls for a survey to determine engagement of all stakeholders (students, families, staff, and community).
Please take 10 minutes to provide us with your candid input. Your answers will be anonymous. The survey window will remain open through November 13th.
