PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, August 8th
Hello Families!
I hope you have had a wonderful week and are looking forward to the weekend! I know this is a busy time of year so thank you for taking the time to read these communications!
As a reminder, class placement information will be sent out via email on Thursday, August 14th. We cannot tell you what time the emails will be sent as this is a centralized process. Email delivery may be staggered so it is possible that some people will receive the email before you. This does not mean that you have been forgotten! Please continue to check throughout the day, including your spam or junk folder. If you have not heard about your child's class placement by 8:00 am on Friday, August 15th, please reach out to Mrs. Hamilton or Mrs. Dunning in the front office and they will be happy to help you.
Supply Drop Off will take place on Wednesday, August 20th - 2:50 - 3:20pm.
Our amazing PTA sent out an RSVP form via email this week for the LAST SPLASH POOL PARTY on Tuesday, August 12th at Frontier Pool! If you are able to attend this fun event, please RSVP and don't forget that the amazing BACK TO SCHOOL BASH will take place on Friday, September 5th! We are so grateful to our PTA for organizing these events and helping to start off the school year with opportunities to have fun and connect with one another! More details can be found below!
We cannot wait for our Panthers to be back in the building soon and for the start of the 2025-2026 school year!
Sincerely,
Ellie Chin
CLASS PLACEMENT (NEW POST!)
As mentioned above, Class Placement information will be emailed on Thursday, August 14th.
At this time, teacher assignments are final. Our class development process involves significant time and careful consideration. Decisions were thoughtfully made for each student as we share your desire for each of our Panthers to have a successful year of learning and growth, and to have fun and enjoy each day that they enter our doors.
We do understand that some children may feel nervous or anxious about the start of a new year with different classmates, a new teacher, and a different classroom. To support your child in this transition, we hope you will attend our School Supply Drop-Off/Meet and Greet on Wednesday, August 20th from 2:50 - 3:20 pm. This will allow your child the opportunity to meet their teacher, see the classroom, and see some of the familiar faces of their future classmates. If you are unable to attend, please rest assured that all of our teachers will include multiple activities to help students get to know one another as the year begins.
COMMUNITY SAFETY NIGHT - Wed., September 10th: 6:00 - 7:00pm (NEW POST!)
AHSD25 is excited to host a Community Safety Night at Thomas Middle School on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 6:00–7:00 PM. This event will focus on electronic bike/scooter safety, including local ordinances and expectations on school property. We’ll also cover important reminders around drop-off and pick-up routines, as well as before and after school expectations while on school property. More details will be shared soon, but we hope many can attend
FOOD SERVICES FLYER (NEW POST!)
If you are dreading the mere thought of packing lunches every day, then have no fear, because our Food Services department has finalized the August lunch menu and it can be found HERE.
More information about the lunch process can be found below. Our food services department will be sending out a communication soon that will include your child/ren's ID number. You will need this number if you are setting up a new MyMealTime account.
If you would like to get a jump start on this process before the communication comes out, please don't hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Hamilton or Mrs. Dunning in the office - they will be able to provide this information.
BACK TO SCHOOL GUIDE! (2nd Post!)
SCHOOL SUPPLY DROP OFF - Wednesday, August 20th (2nd Post!)
School Supply Drop off will take place on Wednesday, August 20th from 2:50 - 3:20 pm. Teachers are still busy preparing for an amazing first day of school. Please stop by to drop off school supplies and meet your teacher! We kindly ask that only current families visit the classroom so that teachers are able to say hello and connect with each of their new students during this time. Once you drop off your supplies please feel free to stop by the commons to sample some of our delicious hot lunch items or head outside to the blacktop area and connect with other families outdoors. There is no need to organize supplies while you are in the classroom. Teachers will build that into the first few days of school. If you are unable to attend supply drop off, please know that your child can bring their supplies in over the first few days of school.
If you ordered supplies through the PTA, those supplies will be delivered directly to your child's classroom.
If you still need to purchase supplies, you can either this link for a school supply list or, new this year you can easily purchase supplies online at a store of your choice! Simply navigate HERE, head to "Quick Links for Parents" and look for "School Supply List 25-26". Select the applicable grade from the drop down menu below, select the store you would like to purchase from and voila - all items will be added to your online shopping cart!
