Hello Quantum Families,

Huge congratulations to our 5th and 8th grade STEM Challenge day teams as they took home a total of 4 medals on Saturday! The teams have been preparing for months and wow are we impressed!

5th grade took home 3rd place in Math and Science and 2nd place in Engineering!

8th grade took home 1st place in Math and Science and 1st place in Engineering!

Thank you to Mrs. Buhler, Ms. Miramontes, Mrs. Carpenter, Mrs. Hudgins, and Mr. Larry for all their help to get our Quarks to their medals! We will celebrate our teams at an assembly on Wednesday and we will have otter pops after lunch! Please let me know if your Quark needs a different treat. Way to go Quantum Quarks for showing perseverance through these challenging math, science, and engineering tasks!

We’re in the home stretch before Spring Break, which begins next Thursday. Please note that Wednesday, April 9th is a minimum day, with dismissal at 12:25 PM. Spring Break will run from Thursday, April 10th through Monday, April 21st. School will resume on Tuesday, April 22nd. Have a wonderful and relaxing break with friends and family!

Once we return from Spring Break, we will begin CAASPP testing. CAASPP tests are given statewide and provide an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the same academic standards. Given online, the tests are computer-adaptive, allowing a more precise measurement of individual skills. Parents can use their student’s ELA, mathematics, and science results as one of many indicators of their child’s performance. Our staff uses these results to inform our grade level instruction and compare our school's performance toward achieving our state standards.

Our testing window is April 24-May 9th. Please send students to school on time with their charged iPads. Students should eat a healthy breakfast and get a good night’s sleep. During testing, we are required to collect personal electronic devices prior to the start of the test. This includes cell phones, wireless headphones, and smart watches. Thank you for your support!
