Letter from Our Principal
Dear LPS Families,
We have had a wonderful week celebrating Homecoming, from our dress-up days to our first pep rally of the year, and a win at the football game! On Saturday, our high school students will wrap up the celebration with the Masquerade Dance. Homecoming is a special LPS tradition, and we have loved seeing our students take part.
Next Thursday, our 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT. For 11th graders, it is an opportunity to shine and potentially qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program. For 10th graders, it provides valuable practice and helps them identify strengths and areas to work on before taking it again next year.
We have also added a Quick Links section to the Lion’s Roar. It brings together important links you may need throughout the school year so they are easy to find.
Next week, we will return to our regular dress code. Please check that your child meets the requirements before leaving for school. As a reminder, students may not wear hoodies, UGGs, or open-toed shoes. Thank you for helping our students arrive ready for the day!
Thank you for your support, and enjoy the rest of Homecoming week!
With Lion Heart and Strength of Mind,
Wendy Craft

PSAT - Oct 1st for 10th and 11th Grade
Our 10th- and 11th-grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT on Thursday, October 1st. Testing will begin promptly at 7:50 a.m. Please ensure your student is present and ready to test by 7:50 a.m. This includes students who normally have late arrival. Arriving on time will help us begin testing smoothly and prevent interruptions.
Why are students taking the PSAT? The PSAT measures the reading, writing, and math skills students are developing in school. It also: Provides students with an indication of how they may perform on the SAT, identifies academic strengths and areas for improvement, connects students with personalized SAT practice resources, helps students explore potential college and career pathways, and gives eligible 11th-grade students the opportunity to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other recognition opportunities.
Families can learn more by visiting the College Board PSAT/NMSQT website.
Thank you for helping your student arrive on time, prepared, and ready to do their best!
