A Great Day at Billings Farm!

All RVS students traveled to Woodstock, Vermont this past Thursday to visit Billings Farm and Museum. We attended the program "Children on Hill Farms" and enjoyed visiting cows and calves, playing with toys from the past and experiencing games children would have played in the 1800's, hunting through the museum which featured schools and stores of the past, and more. We also appreciated ice cream made from local cows after lunch - a big thanks to our PTO for providing this! Students and teachers alike so enjoyed this trip, and we are busy thinking about how we can extend these ideas into an all-school "Vermont History Day" in the spring. Billings Farm staff shared with us that they really appreciated working with such curious, attentive students - way to go, Honeybees! RVS Important to Remember

Please continue to be sure that your child is bringing winter gear to school with them. They also need shoes that are not snow boots for inside the building.
School will close for winter break following a half day (12:00 dismissal) on 12/22. School will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd. Please note that there is NO Bridges on Friday, 12/22: please send a note or contact Tina with alternative pickup plans if your child is usually enrolled on Friday afternoons.
The Dental Van is visiting on 12/15: children attending should already by signed up and confirmed with Nurse Dot.

Through the Salvation Army, you can access toys and food boxes for the holidays. Call (802) 476-5301 or use Facebook Messenger (The Salvation Army Barre, VT Corps) to set up an appointment to access these resources.

Central VT Community Free Distribution Center

The HOPE Coalition has been in contact to share with the Roxbury community that they are providing support in the form of relief supplies, clothing, fresh produce and shelf-stable foods, all at no cost. They are located at 297 Vine Street in Berlin and are open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1-4PM. Folks seeking more info can visit www.hopecoalition.net.

Next School Board Meeting: December 13th at MHS

All regularly scheduled meetings begin at 6:30pm. Board Members will either be participating virtually or in-person. This meeting will be held at MHS. Public comment is welcome at all meetings at the time period designated in the meeting agenda and/or as established by the chairperson. The agenda and Zoom link can be found here on the school website.

Kids Holiday Crafting Event at the Roxbury Free Library
