A Message From Mrs. Webb
Dear WIldcats,
Congratulations to our Wildcats on successfully completing the first nine weeks of the school year! We are proud of the hard work, growth, and accomplishments our students have demonstrated so far. The end of a grading period is a great opportunity to celebrate progress, reflect on areas for improvement, and set goals for the next nine weeks. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to help every student succeed.
As we begin the second nine weeks, we encourage families to review grades in Skyward, discuss academic goals with students, and reinforce the importance of completing assignments, attending class regularly, and taking responsibility for learning.
PSAT – Tuesday, October 20
Our eighth-grade students will take the PSAT on Tuesday, October 20. Please help your student prepare by getting a good night's sleep, eating breakfast, and arriving at school ready to do their best. We are proud of our students and look forward to seeing them demonstrate their learning!
Dyslexia Awareness Month
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. This is an opportunity to increase awareness, celebrate the strengths and talents of individuals with dyslexia, and recognize the importance of providing students with the tools and support they need to succeed. At Creek Valley, we are committed to helping every Wildcat reach their full potential.
Good Luck in the Playoffs, Wildcats!
We are excited to cheer on our Volleyball and Football teams as they compete in the playoffs! Their hard work, dedication, and teamwork reflect the spirit of our campus. Good luck to both teams as they represent Creek Valley!
A Shared Commitment to Student Behavior
At Creek Valley, we want our students to enjoy school, build positive friendships, and participate in meaningful learning experiences. To ensure that every student has a safe and productive environment, we need to work together to reinforce our campus expectations.
Over the past several weeks, we have noticed an increase in horseplay, classroom and hallway disruptions, and students not following staff directions. Examples include talking over staff during announcements, engaging in horseplay that disrupts nearby classrooms, and not complying with requests to correct dress code or not wearing school IDs.
We understand that middle school students are learning to navigate friendships, make responsible decisions, and develop independence. However, safety, respect, and responsibility are nonnegotiable expectations. Horseplay can quickly escalate into unsafe situations, and not following staff directions takes time away from instruction and affects the learning environment for others.
Our staff will continue to provide reminders, reteach expectations, and assign appropriate consequences when necessary. We also want students to understand that responding respectfully to adult directions and correcting behavior when prompted are important parts of becoming responsible and successful young adults.
Family Action Step: Five Minutes Can Make a Difference
This week, please take five minutes to check in with your student about their behavior at school. Ask these three questions:
Am I following staff directions the first time they are given?
Am I keeping my hands, feet, and belongings to myself and avoiding horseplay?
When a staff member corrects my behavior, dress code, or technology use, do I respond respectfully and make the requested correction?
Please ask your student to identify one specific action they will take this week to demonstrate greater responsibility and respect at school. Your conversations and support make a tremendous difference in helping students understand that the expectations we establish at school and reinforce at home work together.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure Creek Valley remains a place where every student feels safe, respected, and ready to learn. We are proud of the progress our Wildcats have made during the first nine weeks and look forward to building on that success in the second nine weeks.
Let's continue to show our Wildcat pride in the classroom, in the hallways, and throughout our community!
Warmly,
Mrs. Steffanie Webb
Principal

To help your student prepare, please make sure they:
Get a good night's sleep the night before testing.
Eat a healthy breakfast on the morning of the test.
Arrive at school on time and ready to do their best.
Bring their iPad fully charged.
Bring a snack for the break between the two sections of the test.
Thank you for your support in helping our students have a successful testing day!
