Hello Families!

We had an amazing week! In writing, we learned how to write a squiggle story and a sticker story. We took our first math quiz on Thursday. You will find it in your student’s BEE Folder this week.

iReady Diagnostic Testing

Next week, we will begin our iReady diagnostic testing in reading and math. Please help your child get a full night’s sleep, breakfast in the morning, and arrive at school on time.

B.E.E Folders/Homework

It is important for kiddos to learn the responsibility to bring their B.E.E. folder back to school and home each night. Nightly homework needs to be completed and returned each day in the BEE Folder. (Mon-Thurs). We will have Math and reading homework this week.

As a part of each student's reading data, we are required to collect data on each student's ability to control and manipulate each phonic sound and how they work together. A component of this is each student's ability to decode and then blend simple made-up words, because as our reading skills get better, individual syllables are made up of nonsense parts. For example, in the homework reading activity game this week, students will roll a dice to read a list of nonsense words: cip, zob, ves, mun. Allow your student to first decode, sound by sound, and then blend smoothly together.
