Good Morning E.L.M. Families,

Happy Friday! We have a half day of school today, with dismissal at 11:30am, and a long weekend with no school on Monday. Students will be served lunch before they leave school today, but we do recommend that you pack an extra snack and drink for students that will be attending the Aftercare program.

News, Updates & Reminders

* Emma Miller makes the news again! Check out the iBerkshire's article about our Teddy Bear Picnic Day. Thank you Ms. Donahue for sharing your love of reading in fun and engaging ways.

* Thanksgiving break will take place 11/22-11/24.

PTG & Loop Race Updates & Reminders:

* The next PTG meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 10th at 5:00pm. We welcome new members.

* The PTG is sponsoring a school store for school apparel. If you're interested in making a purchase the link is below. A portion of the sale will be given back to our PTG as a fundraiser. Thank you for your support

Health & Safety:

* We have the opportunity for a traveling dental hygienist to visit our school for those who need it. This program is mainly to target those students who are without dental coverage or those on Mass Health. However, if a student does not have a dentist they are welcome to sign up also. The hygienist would come and do cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, screenings, and education as needed. I am looking to assess how much interest before scheduling anything. Please email me at kraimer@savoyelementary.com if your child qualifies and you are interested.

* In other health news, there are other schools in the area with recent outbreaks of hand, foot and mouth disease. Please be on the lookout for symptoms and keep your child home if they arise. Hand foot and Mouth is extremely contagious. Please visit the link below for more information on this.
