Weekly update for Peirce Middle School
Dear Peirce Families,
Peirce Middle School will participate in Red Ribbon Week starting on Monday, October 28. As a school, we will make a pledge to support living a healthy and safe lifestyle and participate in the different spirit days-First up: Sports day. The week will culminate with a Halloween day on Thursday, October 31. Students may not bring real or fake props (i.e., lasers, pitchforks, weapons, sticks, etc.) or fake blood. Face painting is permitted as long as the student is identifiable. Please avoid costumes and clothing that depict excessive violence, gore, or could cause disruption to the school environment.
Also, Peirce is holding a Pink Family Night on Monday, November 4 at Peirce Middle School from 4:30-7:00 pm. Students must be accompanied by an adult. Food trucks from Brother's Pizza, Philly Hots, and Scoops and Smiles will all donate a percentage of their sales to Unite for Her. We will also have yard games, a hayride for the little ones, a DJ, and pink spirit wear for sale. Please see the attached flyer and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. Additionally, on Wednesday, November 6, we will host our annual Pink Football game against Fugett Middle School. The 7th grade team will kick off the night at 6:00 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the 8th grade. The site for the games is Henderson High School's stadium. Thank you for your support of this great cause.
News and Notes from Peirce Middle School
Parent Team Conferences to take place at Peirce on November 26 and 27
Parent-team conferences will take place in person or virtually on Tuesday, November 26 and Wednesday, November 27 at Peirce Middle School. Unlike elementary school, middle school conferences are not scheduled for every child.
Our Counseling Department will work with our grade level teams to identify the students/families for which this type of meeting will be crucial to their academic achievement. Their school counselor (phone and email) will notify these families by the end of the day on Friday, November 8.
Parents who have not been contacted, but wish to have a team conference, may do so by completing a request form during the week of November 11-November 15. The request link will be shared with families on Monday, November 11. Families will be notified of their conference times by the end of the day on Friday, November 22.
Peirce Cheer Club to hold student meeting during homeroom on Thursday, November 7
The Peirce Cheer Club will hold a student informational meeting in the cafeteria on Thursday, November 7 during homeroom. Students should check into homeroom first and then report to the cafeteria. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Picture retakes to be held on Thursday, November 14
Picture retakes are scheduled for Thursday, November 14 over the lunch periods. Students should bring their proof booklet to lunch so this can serve as their camera card. Announcement will be made during each lunch to alert students when to have their photo taken.
Winter Sports for 7th and 8th Grade Students
Winter sports at Peirce will start at different times depending on the specific sport and grade level. Please see the start dates/tryout dates and contact information for each sport. If a student has already played a Peirce sport this year, your student only needs to submit a Section PIAA recertification (by a parent/guardian). If this is the first Peirce sport this year, a full PIAA Physical will be required prior to starting the season. Please see the directions to register through family ID below.
