Markham, IL — Prairie-Hills Elementary School District 144 is proud to announce that, for the second consecutive year, all students enrolled in the district for the 2025-2026 school year will receive free school supplies, backpacks, and waived registration fees—with no cost to families.
This includes every student in grades K–8 across the district, ensuring that each child starts the year prepared and equipped for success.
In addition, Pre-K students will also be included in this initiative and will receive their free school supplies and backpacks through the Primary Learning Center.
This effort highlights the Board of Education’s strong commitment to removing barriers to learning and supporting families across the community.
“Our goal is to remove barriers to academic success and create a strong foundation for every child,” said Dr. Kinasha Brown, Superintendent of Schools. “By providing these essential resources at no cost, we are investing in our students and strengthening the partnership between home and school.”
Families are encouraged to complete registration online at www.phsd144.net to take advantage of these supports before the start of the school year.

Markham, IL — El Distrito Escolar Primario Prairie-Hills 144 se enorgullece en anunciar que, por segundo año consecutivo, todos los estudiantes inscritos en el distrito para el año escolar 2025-2026 recibirán útiles escolares gratuitos, mochilas y exención de tarifas de inscripción—sin ningún costo para las familias.
Esto incluye a todos los estudiantes de los grados K–8 en todo el distrito, garantizando que cada niño comience el año escolar preparado y equipado para el éxito.
Además, los estudiantes de Pre-Kínder también estarán incluidos en esta iniciativa y recibirán sus útiles escolares y mochilas gratuitas a través del Centro de Aprendizaje Primario (Primary Learning Center).
Este esfuerzo destaca el fuerte compromiso de la Junta de Educación para eliminar las barreras al aprendizaje y apoyar a las familias en toda la comunidad.
