Hello Sheiko Families!

Wow! What a wonderful week of learning! From the kindergarteners and first graders going to see "The Rainbow Fish" at West Bloomfield HIgh School to an extra recess and a popsicle from the PTO. Fun was had by all! I have also been reading to each class and then reviewing Sheiko's expectations in the building. Be sure to ask your student what book I read to them and what they learned ("The Recess Queen" or "Enemy Pie").

Our "Big Announcement" for this week is that STEAM and Laker Learning are starting next week! Be sure to ask your child about it when they come home on Wednesday!

MUSIC

This week in music, the kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders explored that some sounds have a beat but not all do. We also explored singing, moving and playing the beat at different tempos with rhythm sticks.

The 3rd and 4th graders learned the bucket drumming routines to "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire and "Best Day of My Life" by American Authors. Here are two videos of Mr. Cushman's 4th grade class demonstrating. Kayson Rosado filmed for us.

We have a Candy Monster who loves to eat donated nut free candy! If you would like to donate for the Trunk-or-Treat PTO event please deliver them to the front office.

Parents of WBSD students can apply to receive six non-perishable meals each Friday of the school year. The goal of Fueling Kids' Futures is to make sure no child goes hungry on the weekend. Run by volunteers, there is NO cost to the families. For the application, click here.
