Starting Strong Cougars!
๐ Jumping Into Week 5 โ Driven with a Purpose! ๐พ
Itโs hard to believe we are already heading into Week 5! Our Cougars continue to settle into routines, build relationships, and grow as learners each and every day. We are so proud of the energy and excitement we see across our campus!
As we move forward, we remain Driven with a Purposeโfocused on strong learning, great attendance, meaningful connections, and making every day count. There are so many GREAT things ahead, and we are thankful to have our families alongside us for the journey.
Hereโs to another amazing week of starting strong, staying strong, and finishing strong! ๐๐พ๐
One Team. One Goal. DRIVEN!
TEA RATING..
We must admit, we hesitated to share our TEA Accountability Rating on social media because Brauchle is so much more than a letter grade. ๐๐พ
Our campus should never be defined by one single letter. A letter cannot fully capture the heart of our school, the relationships we build, the challenges our students overcome, the growth we celebrate, or the countless hours our staff dedicates to helping every child succeed.
Brauchle is our students. Brauchle is our staff. Brauchle is our families. Brauchle is our community.
Together, we are ONE TEAM. ONE GOAL. โค๏ธ
We continue to see tremendous growth and gains in our students, and we could not be prouder. We are incredibly fortunate to have a phenomenal staff who works tirelessly each day to ensure our students achieve at high levels and, just as importantly, make meaningful growth toward their individual goals.
Our students show up, work hard, persevere, and continue to amaze us. Our families stand beside us, support our school, and partner with us in doing what is best for our Cougars. It truly takes all of us.
So while this TEA โBโ Rating does not define Brauchle, it does tell a piece of our story. It represents the hard work, dedication, growth, teamwork, and commitment that happens throughout our campus every single day.
And that is something worth celebrating! ๐๐พ
To our incredible students, staff, families, and entire Brauchle communityโTHANK YOU. This accomplishment belongs to all of us, and we are incredibly proud of what we continue to accomplish together.
What BRAUCHLE PRIDE we have! ๐
Way to go, Cougars! ๐พ๐
We are DRIVEN WITH A PURPOSEโand we will continue moving forward together!
ONE TEAM. ONE GOAL. ONE PROUD BRAUCHLE FAMILY. โค๏ธ๐พ๐
Please take time to read about CEP forms... We want to continue to be Title 1!
๐พ Brauchle Families โ We Still Need Your Help! โค๏ธ
We want to send another important reminder about our CEP Form. As of right now, Brauchle is still not projected to qualify for Title I funding next school year, and we need the help of ALL of our families to make sure our campus information is as complete and accurate as possible.
If you have not yet completed your CEP Form, please take just a few minutes to do so. Even if you think your family may not qualify, we still need you to complete the form!
The information collected helps determine funding that supports so many of the things our Cougars benefit fromโadditional staff, intervention and tutoring, instructional resources, technology, books, teacher training, and more.
๐พ The CEP application is OPEN NOW!
Please visit ecep.nisd.net to complete your form.
Our goal is simple: EVERY Brauchle family completes the CEP Form. Every response helps us ensure that our campus data truly represents our community.
Thank you for continuing to show up for Brauchle! Together, we can help protect the resources and opportunities that make a difference for our students. โค๏ธ๐๐พ
One Campus. One Community. Every Form Counts!
WE NEED YOU..
๐ Brauchle Families, We Want to Hear From YOU! ๐
Your voice matters! Please take just 5 minutes to complete our Family Opinion Survey. Your feedback helps us continue to strengthen the work we do to support our students, families, and community.
At Brauchle, we do our very best to make our campus community our #1 priority, and your input helps us continue to grow and improve together. ๐พ๐
Thank you for being such an important part of our Brauchle Family!

Happening now until September 23rd!
Lunch with your child..
We are always happy to see our Brauchle families on campus! If you are stopping by to have lunch with your Cougar, we appreciate your help in keeping our lunchtime routines running smoothly.
๐ A few friendly reminders:
Families are welcome to enjoy lunch with their child on the cafeteria stage. To help us maintain appropriate supervision, students must remain with their assigned class unless they are eating with their own parent or guardian. Please do not invite other students to join your lunch, even when permission has been provided by another family.
When your childโs lunch period ends, they will rejoin their class and return with their teacher or classmates. We ask that visitors not accompany students back to classrooms.
Before heading out, please stop by the front office to check out.
Thank you for helping us protect instructional time, maintain campus safety, and still make room for those special lunchtime moments with your Cougar! ๐๐พ
We love having our families at Brauchle!
Pre-K, Kinder, 1st grade Cougars...
Good afternoon, Pre-Kโ1st Grade Cougar Families! ๐พ
A friendly reminder that our instructional day begins at 7:45 a.m. We love welcoming our families and giving you the opportunity to walk your little ones to their classrooms!
Please arrive before 7:40 a.m. if you would like to walk your child to class. This allows time for hugs, goodbyes, and your exit from campus by 7:45 a.m. If you are joining your child for breakfast, please arrive early enough to finish and have your child in class by that time.
Your support helps us continue offering this special morning connection without moving the parent walk-in cutoff to 7:35 a.m. Together, we can help every Cougar settle in and begin learning on time!
Thank you for your partnership and for helping us start each day strong! ๐๐พ
Arrivals in morning...
A healthy breakfast helps students feel energized, focused, and ready to learn! ๐ฅฃ๐ Breakfast is served in our cafeteria at no cost to all students.
Students who would like to eat breakfast at school should arrive before 7:35 a.m. so they have plenty of time to enjoy their meal and get to class before the tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m. Thank you for helping our Cougars start their day strong! ๐พ
Attendance Updates
Attendance Updates
Every Day Counts at Brauchle! ๐
Every day at Brauchle gives our Cougars another opportunity to learn, grow, build relationships, and shine! Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. When students attend school regularly and arrive on time, they remain connected to classroom instruction, their teachers, and their classmates.
Brauchleโs current attendance rate is 95.6%, while Northside ISDโs rate is 95.7%. We are so close, Cougars! Letโs work together to surpass the district average and show that our Brauchle community understands the importance of being present, prepared, and ready to learn every day.
We understand that children occasionally become ill and need to remain home. When your child is absent, please send a written parent note or medical documentation to your childโs teacher as soon as your child returns so our attendance team can review and properly document the absence.
The district sends Automated Attendance Notifications when a student reaches three unexcused absences, including full or partial days. Families have a limited amount of time to submit the appropriate documentation before the notice is finalized. When a student accumulates five or more absences, our campus team will partner with the family to develop an attendance intervention plan.
Our goal is always to identify barriers, provide support, and help every child attend school consistently. If your family is experiencing circumstances that make regular attendance difficult, please reach out to us. We are here to listen, partner with you, and help whenever possible.
Every day matters. Every minute of learning counts. Every Cougar deserves the opportunity to succeed!
Thank you for being such important partners in your childโs education. Together, we can raise our attendance rate and ensure every Cougar has the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine! ๐พ๐

RANDOM ATTENDANCE WINNERS... YOUR NAME IS CALLED AND YOU ARE HERE- YOU WIN!
Dismissal Changes
We know that there are times when dismissal changes may happen, please notify your childโs teacher of any changes in writing. Our teachers are busy at work teaching throughout the day, therefore if you are going to send a class dojo, please ensure you send the message of dismissal changes the day prior so teachers have enough time to see the change. Please do not ask your child to verbally let their teacher know as sometimes the information does not get to teachers accurately. If you need to make immediate changes the day of, please call the front office at 210-397-1500 prior to 2:15pm.
๐ก๏ธ Safety & Security at Brauchle
The safety and security of our students, staff, and families continues to be our number one priority at Brauchle. We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment each and every day.
Campus Entry & Visitors
The designated point of entry and exit for all visitors is through our security lobby. All visitors must check in through the front office and present a valid ID. We will continue to use the Raptor Visitor Management System to verify and clear all visitors before they are permitted to enter the campus.
If you plan to walk onto campus, you will need to either:
- Check in through the front office to receive a Raptor visitor badge, OR
- Complete a Fast Pass so your badge can be pre-printed and ready for you upon arrival.
All visitors must also exit the campus through the security lobby doors.
Safety Drills
Throughout the school year, our students and staff will participate in required fire, lockdown, and other safety drills. These drills are an important part of ensuring everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency.
Anytime we conduct a lockdown/safety drill, campus administration will notify families through ClassDojo, and teachers will also communicate with their families.
Campus Security
Our administration and custodial teams work closely together to routinely monitor our campus and ensure exterior and interior doors are secure and functioning properly.
We appreciate our families working alongside us and following all campus safety procedures. Keeping Brauchle safe is a shared responsibility, and we are grateful for your partnership.
We also encourage families to visit NISD's Safety & Security webpage for district safety information and updates. We will continue to keep our Brauchle families informed throughout the school year.
NISD SCHOOL BOND 2026 INFO.
At its August 11 Board meeting, the NISD Board voted to place a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) and several bond packages on the Nov. 3 ballot. The first, Proposition A, is a Voter Approval Tax Rate Election, or VATRE, asking voters to approve a three-cent increase in the maintenance and operations tax rate, roughly $30 more per year for every $100,000 in home value.
The three bond packages (Propositions B, C, and D) total just over $886 million. While the VATRE funds daily operations such as salaries and utilities, bonds finance capital expenses such as construction and renovations.
MAP TESTING FULL SWING..
NWEA MAP Testing
NISD students participate in NWEA MAP Growth testing three times each school yearโat the beginning, middle, and end of the year. These assessments help us monitor each studentโs academic progress, celebrate growth, and identify areas where additional instruction or support may be needed.
MAP testing is important for several reasons. MAP scores may be considered as part of the qualification process for certain programs, such as Gifted and Talented services. Student growth data may also be one of the measures used for the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment, commonly known as TIA. Most importantly, the results help teachers understand what each student is ready to learn next and measure academic growth throughout the year.
Our teachers will notify families when MAP testing is scheduled to begin for their specific grade levels. Please help your child do their best by ensuring they arrive at school on time, get a good nightโs sleep, and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days.
NWEA provides a helpful Family Toolkit with resources to help parents better understand MAP testing, student scores, and growth reports. We encourage you to take a look!
Message from Our Fabulous PTA...
๐๐A BIG PTA WIN FOR OUR BRAUCHLE COMMUNITY! ๐๐
Dear Brauchle Families,
We have something exciting to celebrate, and YOU helped make it happen!
At the last NISD Council of PTAs meeting, Henry T. Brauchle Elementary PTA was proudly presented with the 2026โ2027 Head Start Award!๐
This award recognizes PTAs that achieved 85% of last yearโs total membership early in the new membership year โ and we could not have reached this milestone without the incredible support of our parents, grandparents, teachers, staff, students, friends, and community members who have already joined.
THANK YOU! Every single membership matters. Every person who joins helps strengthen our PTA and gives us more opportunities to support our students, teachers, staff, and entire Brauchle community.
But the race isnโt over yet!
Havenโt joined PTA yet? Donโt worry โ itโs NOT too late! We would love to have you on our team as we continue racing toward an amazing year for our Cougars.
And check out another reason weโre celebratingโฆ
Meet And look at our very first group of 17 Student PTA Members!๐พ
We are so excited to have these Cougars officially become part of our PTA! Students can have their very own PTA membership, too. Our Student PTA Members will receive special incentives from the PTA each month as a fun way to celebrate their involvement, school spirit, and Cougar pride.
We hope to see this group of 17 continue to GROW! .
Whether youโre a parent, grandparent, teacher, staff member, community supporter, or student โ thereโs a place for YOU in the Brauchle PTA.
Together, weโre building a stronger school community โ one membership at a time.
With Cougar Pride,
