District Updates

The MRPS Board of School Directors approved the FY`25 Budget and Warning on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024. You can review budget presentations that began at the 11/1/23 school board meeting and that have continued at every meeting since, learn about future board meetings, and review a our budget FAQ document on our school budget website.

MRPS administrators will host a virtual Budget Informational Hearing on Tuesday, March 5th at 8:30 am. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

MRPS has partnered with TruexCullins to facilitate a robust community engagement process to help the district assess future options and opportunities for the facilities within our district. Thank you to all of those who participated in our first two community workshops on November 14th and December 5th. MPRS's goal is that every student graduates from our system with the confidence, skills, and dispositions to have a limitless future. In order to achieve this goal, we recognize that every learner needs to feel safe and have a sense of belonging at school. In light of this, MRPS has partnered with The Equity Leadership Group to conduct an equity audit of our current system.

The audit report will be released and a presentation made at a future school board meeting.

MRPS has formed a Caregiver Council to the Superintendent comprised of caregiver representatives from each school. The Council identifies common needs and goals, provides feedback to administrators, ensures the needs of caregivers are considered in decision making, and much more.

For the 2023-24 school year, all meetings will occur on the third Thursday of each month from noon-1:00. Lunch will be provided. Meetings will be held at Montpelier High School. Remaining meeting dates for the 2023-24 school year are: 2/15, 3/21, 4/18, and 5/16.
