Superintendent's Monday Magi Message
Happy Monday Magi Families
As we step into this week, we find ourselves on the brink of spring break, a well-deserved respite for students, staff, and families. It's a time when we can unwind, reconnect with friends and family, and recharge before diving into the school year's final stretch. Last week was particularly rewarding as I had the pleasure of once again spending time with our students. Engaging with them is always a highlight for me as an educator. Together with a team of dedicated chaperones, we traveled to Grand Rapids, where our students immersed themselves in a financial literacy simulation at Junior Achievement. Witnessing their engagement and real-world learning always reminds me of the great things our schools and students do for our community.
As we anticipate the upcoming break, I encourage each of you to embrace the opportunity to rest and rejuvenate. Let's take this time to do things that bring us joy and relaxation, whether it's spending quality time with family, exploring new hobbies, or simply enjoying moments of (hopefully) some sunshine. Please also consider the importance of students returning from our break with renewed energy and focus. The final months of the school year lie ahead, including important state assessments in April. Let's use this break as a chance to recharge our bodies and minds to return refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that await us all.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Kowalski

Special Visitors for Reading
March is Reading Month at Colon Elementary School and we had a special visitor! Mrs. Bower, also known as DK Teacher Taya Bower's mom, brought in her work's emotional support dog to join our reading session. It was a paws-itively delightful experience for the kids as they snuggled up with their favorite books and enjoyed the company of our furry friend. Thank you, Mrs. Bower, for making reading even more enjoyable and comforting for our students!
Thanks a bunch!!
We are endlessly grateful for the amazing staff, leadership, and community members who have stepped up to support our athletics department this season at our home games. Between the amazing work of Larry French and our game staff, they have rolled with changes and supported students, fans, and our athletics department in so many ways. Thank you for your spirit, your flexibility, and all you do to support Magi Athletics!
iReady Incentives a Hit!
We had the honor of celebrating amazing students who have contributed to some record gains in academic growth over the past school year. From meeting their iReady goals to exceeding them and even surpassing their stretch goals, our students have truly shown their commitment to learning and growth.
To celebrate, students enjoyed well-deserved incentives, including visiting with friends, listening to some country tunes, and indulging in delicious Chick-fil-A and ice cream during the last half hour of the day. We couldn't be prouder of our students for demonstrating all that they have learned this year. Their achievements reflect their dedication and the support of our entire school community.

It was a great day for our Colon High School financial literacy students! Today, we embarked on an epic journey to the BRAND NEW Junior Achievement of Southwest Michigan Finance Park in Grand Rapids! From the moment we stepped in, it was like diving headfirst into the world of "adulting" – every decision we made felt like a step toward shaping our financial futures.
Through hands-on simulations, we explored the delicate dance between career choices, education paths, and managing money. Budgeting, planning, and navigating life's twists and turns – we tackled it all, and boy, was it a ride! We didn't just learn about finance today; we lived it! And amidst the excitement, we're incredibly grateful to our amazing parent and staff chaperones for guiding us through the adventure and to our transportation staff for keeping us safe and sound. You all rock! Thank you for helping us pave the way to the futures we dream of!

Two students from the HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing program competed at the SkillsUSA regional competition for electrical wiring. Maverick Downs, a senior from Colon High School, scored in 5th place. Leyton Wyckoff, a junior from Centreville High School, finished in 6th place. Our HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing program is one of only a handful in the state of Michigan and this is the first time students from our Consortium have participated in this type of competition. A great job to these students and a huge "thank you" to Indiana Michigan Power for helping make this experience possible.
