From the Senior Leadership Team – Term 1, Week 7
Kia ora whānau,
It is hard to believe we are already in Week 7! The term is moving very quickly, and our learners are settling into ‘The TNIS Way’. We can see purposeful and productive learning going on in all classrooms.
It is especially pleasing to see our new learners feeling much more comfortable in our school environment. From the competitive spirit shown at recent Zone Days to the enthusiasm in our various lunchtime clubs, all our learners are making the most of every opportunity.

SCHOOL NEWS AND INFORMATION
ICAS 2026
ICAS is an online academic competition that gives students the opportunity to challenge their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills. TNIS will host 3 subjects in 2026: English, Mathematics and Science.
ICAS results are in-depth and meaningful, and ICAS evaluates student performance against other competition entrants across the state and nation. The data reveals student strengths and weaknesses and can help you recognise and support your child's academic journey.
Learn more about ICAS here: (icasassessments.com/products-icas/).
The Assessments Calendar with dates of purchase and the windows in which the text is sat can be found HERE.
These are purchased by parents directly through THIS LINK. If asked for our school PPS code it is: IEH393
WELLBEING AT TNIS
Wellbing at TNIS is an important part of the school experience. This extends to our Whānau as well. In every newsletter we will have wellbing ideas and things you can do at home.

Rugby Skills Holiday Camp - Intermediate Players
Alongside Jacob Buckley we are running a Rugby Skills Holiday Camp this April aimed at intermediate school players looking to take their game to the next level.
The sessions will focus on improving core rugby skills such as passing accuracy, tackling technique, footwork, decision making, and game awareness through structured drills and competitive game scenarios.
I captained the First XV last year and have competed at regional and national level, while Jacob is an Academy of Sport athlete and a strong leader within school rugby. We are passionate about helping developing players improve their skills and confidence.
Camp sessions will run during the school holidays:
• Wednesday 15 April — 1:00pm-4:00pm
• Friday 17 April — 9:00am-12:00pm
Spots are limited to 50 players per session to ensure high-quality coaching and individual attention.
If possible, we would greatly appreciate you including the registration link in your school newsletter or sharing it with students and parents who may be interested.
