Broadmoor's Weekly Wildcat News!
April 20, 2025
Dear BES Families,
April is flying by! This week we have our 4th grade headed to Kauffman Stadium tomorrow. Please make sure to remember their lunch and send a jacket/sweatshirt in case it is cool!
Our 5th grade will also be walking to LMS for a transition morning. It is so much fun, they have a pep rally, give the kids some cool LMS swag, and show them the ropes of middle school!
Students did a great job on the assessments this past month. Thank you for always promoting healthy habits and the importance of always doing their best. Now it is time to celebrate and enjoy the rest of the school year, while we continue to learn and prepare for next year!
Don't forget, camp and fun learning opportunities are listed below. The high school athletics are beginning to release their camp info. Click on the link!
Have a great week,
Cindy Apple, Principal

Attendance and School Calendars
Receive an Attendance Email from School?
If you receive an attendance letter from school, it is meant to inform you of your student's absences or tardies. This way you can also keep track of the days gone and how to plan ahead to
miss fewer days.
When Your Child Misses School:
One week gone is approximately 7.5 hours of instruction lost in reading and in math. That doesn't include the extra time teachers provide to check for understanding and mastery of concepts so they can move on to the next concept. We see some students really struggle to get caught back up when they've missed extended time. We attempt to make it up during school hours, but your child may be required to stay after school to work with teachers or our tutors.
Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.
Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!
If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.
GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!
