Athletic Update
Dear Lesher Families and Student-Athletes,
Due to ongoing heat day restrictions in Poudre School District, all middle school practices next week may only take place in the morning before school or after school at 6:30 PM or later. In addition, all sessions during this time must be optional, so we are unable to hold tryouts next week.
Because of these adjustments, we have updated our Fall Sports Calendars as follows:
Cross Country
Practice: Monday–Friday at 6:00 AM — No changes to schedule
First competition: John Martin Invitational on 8/30
Tennis
Camp: Monday–Friday at TBD (Edora or FCHS) at 6:30 PM— see Band App for details as we are still finalizing the location.
Tryouts: 8/25 and 8/26
First competition: 8/27 — No schedule change
Volleyball
Camp: Monday–Friday at 6:00 AM
Tryouts: 8/25, 8/26, and 8/27
Game 1: Moved to Wednesday, 9/3
Game 2: Moved to Friday, 9/5
Football
Practice: Monday–Friday at 6:00 AM
Entire season shifts back one week:
Week 1 games: Wednesday, 9/3
Final games: Tuesday, 10/14
Boys Soccer
Parent Meeting: Monday, 8/18 at 6:30pm at Lesher
Soccer Camp: Wednesday, 8/20, Thursday, 8/21, and Friday 8/22, 6:30pm-7:30pm at Lesher
Tryouts: Monday, 8/25 and Tuesday, 8/26
We know these changes may cause some challenges for families, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we prioritize student safety while keeping our seasons on track.
For sport-specific updates, please continue to check the Band App and your coach’s messages. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your coach or to me directly.
Stay safe, stay cool, and Go Vikings!
Kind regards,
Ryan Wulff

Crossing Guards Needed!
Hello Viking Community! We are in need of crossing guards for the 2025-26 school year. Safety is our main priority here at Lesher and to keep students and the community safe we rely on our crossing guards to help us navigate coming to and from school every morning and afternoon.
We are in need of crossing guards from 7:10am-7:35am in the morning and 2:20pm-2:45pm in the afternoon at multiple locations around our school. We will train you and supply you with a beautiful vest and stop sign.
In the past we have had volunteers that help out on specific days, multiple days, just mornings, or just afternoons. We will make it work for you!
Please contact Matt Mitchell at mmitchell@psdschools.org if you are interested, it means the world to us!

PSD Engagement Norms
In an effort to foster a culture of mutual respect, effective communication, and quality customer service, PSD has created a set of norms for staff, family/guardian, and community engagement. These norms aim to set a positive tone for interactions between staff and parents and community members, whether they happen in person, over the phone, or in writing.
The norms will be posted in all PSD schools and include expectations that:
- Calls or emails that are not emergencies will be acknowledged within three school days.
- Appointments between the parties involved will be established as a norm for addressing concerns or discussing important matters through direct communication.
- Appointments will take place as soon as reasonably possible. Adequate time is needed for preparation and research before an appointment.
- Communication will focus on collaboration and understanding – respectful language and non-confrontational behavior from all parties are expected.
- Boundaries between personal and professional life will be maintained, and sensitive matters will not be addressed in community settings.
It’s important for everyone in our schools and in our communities to feel welcome and engage in mutual respect to best serve students.
