News from Candice
Hello CME Families,
Our year is off to an amazing start! Our students have been full of smiles and joy this week. Our Kindergarteners started on Monday, and the smiles on their faces were matched only by the pride and happy tears from their mamas and papas—I've been there, too! I am so excited to see you on Friday evening for our Back to School Night out on our field from 5-7. Please come say hi!
Drop-off and Pick-up
As we settle into our routine, I'd like to remind everyone of our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Our goal is to maintain a safe and happy environment every morning and afternoon.
In general, drop-off and pick-up are in two locations:
Front of the building: K-2
West side of the building: 3-6
Here are a few important reminders for everyone:
Be Patient and Go Slow: We have many families who park and cross the car lanes, so please drive extra slowly and keep your eyes peeled for our little ones.
Do Not Exit Your Car: For the safety of our students and to keep traffic moving, please remain in your vehicle in the car lanes between 8:20-8:45 AM and 3:20-3:45 PM.
If you would like to walk your child to the door in the morning, please park in the parking lot.
In the afternoon, please wait in your car for your child to come out and get in.
Obey Stop Signs: We want to send every child home safely every day. Please be sure to obey all physical and crossing guard stop signs.
Use Crosswalks: We have two crosswalks for crossing the streets around our school: one on Poston and Windridge, and one at the end of the car lane on Windridge. I know it’s not always convenient, but using the crosswalks is the only way we can keep everyone safe. Please set a good example for your kiddos by using them!
Experts: Ask Me Anything (AMA) Sessions
As you may remember, our theme this year is “Learn some stuff. Have some fun. Love everyone!” As part of our "learn some stuff" goal, we would love to have some "Ask Me Anything" sessions where we invite local experts and parents with unique careers to share their knowledge with our students in a Q&A style.
If you are interested or know someone who would like to volunteer 30-60 minutes of their time, please reach out to me!
