Worthy Announcements and Work

1. District Warns Parents About App Used by Child Predators

A Texas school district has issued a strong warning about a mobile app officials say is being used by child predators. In a letter sent to parents, Alief Independent School District said the app is called Party in My Dorm. It was described as a role-playing video game app that’s intended for teens and is being used to target and “friend” children by strangers who may cause them harm. The district is asking parents to monitor their children’s cell phones and other smart devices.

2. Remember as we move into the summer months, that EOPs should be reviewed and as Threat Assessment teams are shifting, new team members should be trained by the TxSSC or ESC.
