Cleaning and Moving Day: Please join us on Sunday May 31st beginning at 3:00 PM to move furniture spruce up some landscaping. Bring your muscles and some pruning shears and join in the fun. Snacks will be provided!

First Day of School: Our first day of school for grades K-8 is Wednesday, August 12th. Our Back to school Social will be Thursday August 6th with classroom supply drop off and registration support from 3:00-5:00 and our social fun from 5:00 till 7:00. More details about registration and your family statement for the 2026-2027 school year will be coming your way in July.

NLSA Parent Survey

As we wrap up this year and prepare for next year I am asking that each parent take 10 minutes to help us evaluate where we currently are and areas that you feel we can look to improve in as a school. This will help guide us over the next several years and will be a cornerstone of our National Lutheran Schools Accreditation report. The survey is embedded below and will be sent via email in the coming weeks as well. Please only submit one survey per person.

NLSA Accreditation Team

During the 2026-2027 school year, Wyneken will go through the National Lutheran Schools Association Accreditation Process. A major component is the Self-Study, which requires committee work across several standards. If you're willing to serve on a committee, please let me know at principal@wyneken.org. Time requirements would be minimal (one work day the fall).

IXL Practice (Grades 2-7)

Recently your child should have brought home a laminated login card for IXL. Here's what makes this different from typical summer homework: I've built a personalized study plan for each student based on their individual NWEA test results. This means they're working on exactly what they need, not random problems. You can find the study plan pinned at the top when you hover over the Learning tab in their account.

👉Here's my challenge: Each week during summer students who complete 30 minutes of IXL during the week will be entered into a drawing for a free SodaHouse Drink (gift card). I will announce the winner weekly on Facebook.👈

🚨Important 🚨Final Report Cards

End of year report cards will be EMAILED to all families of K-8th grades within a two-week time period after our last day, May 22nd. If you would prefer to have a copy mailed to your home please reach out to Mrs. Dressler at office@wyneken.org or call the school office at 260-693-6177.

Enrollment for 2026-27

Enrollment invitations have been sent out. If you have not received one or you are having any trouble with enrollment please reach out to Mrs. Nidlinger by email at: principal@wyneken.org and we can trouble shoot what might be going on. Enrollment is due by May 29, 2026.

Summer Office Hours ☀️

Our office will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM throughout the summer. If you need to reach us, email is always the best way to connect, and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can. You can always set up a time to meet with us as well.

We encourage all families to apply. The application deadline for the 2026-2027 school year is by noon on May 29, 2026. All forms and a completed application must be in the school office by this date and time.

**PLEASE NOTE THE APPLICATION DEADLINE. When you submit your application, please also provide a copy of the first page of your 2025 Federal Tax Return-1040 with the Household size and Adjusted Gross Income as documentation of your income. Remember the determination of need is based upon your Adjusted Gross Income. Only our business assistant, Mrs. Cheryl Reinking and I will see these tax documents to ensure privacy for our families. Please note that a separate application is required for each child. Each application must be completed in its entirety, and each application must have proof of current income attached. If you do not have a 2025 tax return or if your household size differs from that recorded on the tax return, please contact the office as there is additional paperwork that will need to be completed to accompany your application.

Applications were sent home with each student. It can also be found on the home page of the Wyneken Website, or you can stop by or contact the office.

Childcare Registration done by May 31, 2026, will be $40. After May31, 2026 the fee is $50. All registration is due by June 30, 2026.

Registration is now open for CLHS Summer Camps and Online Summer School classes! With more than 20 camps to choose from, students entering K-12 for the 2026-2027 school year can explore interests in athletics, the arts, technology, music and more. Camps begin June 1 and continue through July 30, offering flexible options throughout the summer while having fun, making friends, and trying something new.
