NewsFLASH - November 2026
A Message from Mr. Cogan
Building Connections, Practicing Gratitude, Growing Together
As we enter November, it is a wonderful time to reflect on the progress we have made and recognize the many people who help make our school community a positive place to learn and grow. Each day brings new opportunities for our students and staff to show kindness, support one another, and make choices that contribute to a welcoming and respectful environment.
This month, we encourage our students to practice gratitude, recognize the efforts of others, and appreciate the importance of being part of a community. Simple actions, such as offering a word of encouragement, helping a classmate, thanking a teacher, or including someone who may feel left out, can make a meaningful difference. These small moments help strengthen relationships and remind us that everyone has a role in creating a positive school culture.
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I encourage every student to continue taking responsibility for their learning, demonstrating respect, and persevering through challenges. High school is a time to build independence, develop confidence, and prepare for the future. The daily choices our students make—in the classroom, in the hallways, and with one another—help shape the kind of individuals and community we become.
To our families, thank you for your continued partnership and support. When schools and families work together to reinforce gratitude, responsibility, kindness, and respect, we help our students develop the skills and character they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
Let’s make November a month of appreciation, connection, and personal growth. By recognizing the good in others and doing our part each day, we can continue to build a school community where everyone feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Wishing everyone a wonderful November and a happy Thanksgiving!

Responsive Classroom Spotlight
We believe in building strong connections and meaningful relationships with our high school students. Their success is our success! This year, we are implementing Responsive Classroom practices to support our students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
Responsive Classroom helps create a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel a sense of belonging, build meaningful relationships, and take ownership of their learning. At the high school level, these practices strengthen communication, encourage responsibility and collaboration, and support students’ social-emotional growth. By fostering a respectful classroom community, Responsive Classroom helps students develop the confidence, independence, and interpersonal skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
