How to Have A Mystical Experience with Paul
When: Saturday, April 5th 2025
6pm to 9pm
Sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-to-have-a-mystical-experience-tickets-1243635981699
Would you like to be able to go into ecstatic states at will? How would it be to have access to hidden truths? Whether you believe in something you call God, or just that there’s a universal consciousness, an absolute, or great mystery, how would it be to experience contact with it?
Come to this workshop and discover the answers to these questions and more!
Have you ever had a mystical experience? What is a mystical experience? What does it feel like? Why would you want to have one?
In this workshop we’ll talk about what mysticism means and share stories of extraordinary experiences that many of us have had. We’ll explore some techniques that lead to non-ordinary states in which we can feel the connection with the divine or great mystery. You’ll leave with some practices that you can do to refine your ability to have ecstatic experiences on your own. And you’ll be invited to join an ongoing group that will explore these practices and others together over an extended period of time (joining the group is optional – you’ll be able to do the practices on your own if you don’t want to join the group).
This will be an intimate workshop, limited to 8 participants.
About the Facilitator:
Paul is a certified breathwork facilitator, musician, Quaker, mystic, and a few other things. His passion is creating a safe space for people to discover parts of themselves they didn't know existed, and for groups to open their hearts to each other. He has been leading workshops in intimacy and self-exploration for many years.
Circling with Rebo
When:
Tuesday, April 8th at 7pm
and
Monday, April 28 at 7pm
Tickets are $15
Reserve yours by venmoing @rebeccahassell
Circling is an inter-relational practice grounded in the present. It explores the edges of where I begin and you end, weaving elements of somatics, nonviolent communication, and encounter groups together. Circling sessions with Rebo at GlowHouse began one year ago, and it now has an established rhythm: circling for experienced practitioners meets on the second Tuesday, and all-levels circling meets on the fourth Thursday. Check out All-Levels Circling on Thursday, April 28. Part of a series exploring the root emotions, we will dive into how and when we experience fear, drop the stories around it, and explore the messages it sends us.
About your facilitator:
Rebo Hassell is passionate about authentic communication and community building. These efforts have included the long-running Uncorked sex discussion series, the newly-launched Community Central groups in Brookland and Tysons, and circling.

Join us on Earth Day for Ash Rabe's 3rd presentation on the wonderful world of fungi this year. Learn the basics of mushroom foraging, identification and more!
About your facilitator:
Ash cultivated an interest in fungi that began with foraging for mushrooms as food in 2012, but quickly morphed into a passion for fungi for their own sake. Rather than the edible, psychedelic, or medicinal, Ash is invigorated by learning about the weird ones-- mushrooms that grow in crazy places or use unconventional substrates. Motivated by love for microbial interactions and for sustainability, Ash hopes to bridge the gap between these two areas doing research for a Master's program this fall. Aside from her educational pursuits, Ash is a fiber artist, using sustainable, repurposed, and recycled fiber materials to create artworks inspired by a deep reverence for nature and community.

IFS -Informed Authentic Relating with Terry Baransky
When: Saturday, April 26th, 3pm to 6pm
Register Here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ifs-informed-authentic-relating-tickets-1299221118339
In this IFS-informed Authentic Relating workshop, Terry will provide a brief overview of Internal Family Systems (IFS), which is a revolutionary way of looking at the mind - as consisting of parts, rather than being a single thing - and getting to know ourselves in a deep/authentic way. We'll then split up into rotating pairs for various IFS-informed Authentic Relating exercises. These exercises will enable us to deeply relate to each other in a parts-aware way - by speaking to each other about, from, and for our various parts, and allowing our parts to be truly heard and witnessed by another.
Doors open at 2:45. Please give yourself extra time for DC-area commuting - we'd like to start the event promptly at 3:00.
About your Facilitator:
Terry Baranski is an Internal Family Systems practitioner who works 1-on-1, and in groups, with people all over the world to address their mental health challenges. IFS is an approach to therapy and self-growth which offers a unique perspective on the mind - one that opens the door to self-compassion and self-understanding rather than judgment and shame. It's a wonderful technique to help us get in touch with our true selves, see the big picture, and get to know our minds in a more intimate way.
